Dark Stuides

Mary's eyes were focused on the body that the female carried. She watched as Hexel took the body and moved to lay it on the floor. It took her a moment to recall that he had asked something of her.

She nods a bit and looks to the female. "Please come in."

Patrick had paled and run to the bathroom to puke up what was left in his stomach.

Paul sighs a little and says something about checking up on the kid.

Mary's eyes were back on the body then she looks to Hexel. His eyes told her all she needed to know.

Ashiki bowed before her form became more solid and her dress less like water. Her bare feet pattered across the room to the younger human woman, "Now now what is it that has made you all call on the neighbors?" She asked as she patted the girl on the cheek. It was supposed to be comforting but the water sprite wasn't the best at such things.

Hexel answered that question, "I have need of a trap that can ensnare one of my own and bound them fast," He rubbed the back of his head.

"You do?" She mused for a moment before turning her gaze sharply on him, "You should go chat with your mother. Your father has after all gone off and found a new play thing as he is prone to doing. Thought we know he will apear at her side should she need him... But you have been trapped in a book for a few thousand years. What use are you as a demon?"

Rage flickered behind Hexel's eyes, "Not any of your business if I visit that woman."

The fae woman shrugged, "Perhaps you should at least consider it but then again you are your father's child. You will grow bored with this little one soon enough and seek something else to play with."

"Are you saying you won't help us?" Hexel retorted sharply.

"You always were dense a trait you must have picked up from your mother," She sighed, "I'm saying that I must have a reason to join forces with," She pointed a delicate hand at Markus, "A warlock after all do you know what it's like to share your energy with someone? It's not a easy feeling to describe."

"The demon may come after the fae in due time," he states to her.

This seemed to have made her frown a bit more, "Fine."

Mary's body was tense and though she realized the female was trying to be comforting, she didn't really want to be touched right now. When the female and Hexel began to speak, she moved away from them, picking Smokey up as the cat wrapped around her legs a little. She cradled the cat in her arms and stood near the window. She heard the words spoken between the two but she didn't say anything until the end. The look in her eyes showed almost no fear now. She wanted nothing more now than to kill the demon. Would Hexel leave her when he was bored? She didn't want to think about it right now but it was on her mind. If he did leave, there was nothing she could do to keep him there. She was just a human.

Paul was still tending to Patrick who had finally stopped puking but was still looking green around the gills a bit.

Mary looks to the others and finally spoke. "We will need to draw him out. A trap is good and all but he will have to be drawn out and let his guards down long enough." She looks at Hexel now. "You know there is only one way to get him out and his guard dropped."

Paul was tensing and already shaking his head about the idea she was talking about.

Hexel's growl sounded far more animal than any other he had given up till then, "I will not use you that way. I'm not a coward to used a..." he thought about his words for a moment and took a breath, "Mary, to use you would mean that I could loose you. That you could die. You haven't even the slightest clue how to keep him from feeding off you. Once he has finished off with one emotion he will just move to the next till there is nothing that makes you you left. You would be a husk a shell of who you were," The thought made him sick he was over to her in a matter of moments cupping her face in his hands, "Please don't think I don't value you. For you are the first to ever speak to me in decades. The first to show me I had a reason to continue fighting."

He wrapped her in his arms, "I can't let him have you. Consider it pride. Consider it what you like but no. You are simply mine and I can't let anything happen to you."

Markus made a gagging noise, "Fucking hell, Hex, get a room when you decide to profess emotions like that. They just don't fit with the teir of demon you are dude."

Hexel glared angerly while the water sprite piffled softly to herself, "Oh my the ties are tight here."

Mary looked up at Hexel. She understood his concerns, she feared them just as much he did, she was sure of it. Yet, she knew that she would be the only thing that could draw the demon out. Every inch of her knew that for a fact. There was no tremble in her body or her voice as she spoke. "He will not come out of hiding for any other reason. He is too much a coward." She says then sighs and looks to Markus. "Is there a chance, if even for a short time, you can create a way to shield my emotions from him?" she questions

Paul was still shaking his head. "No. Mary, I'm with Hexel on this. Even if the warlock over there could block him from feeding off you, you don't know how to fight against someone like that." He shakes his head.

She looks to him and then everyone else in the room. "How else to you plan on drawing him out? I will not sit in this apartment and just wait for him to find me. He has already proven that he doesn't care who he kills or how many he kills and will jump from body to body if he must. I will not play his game."

Huffing Hexel stared at her for a moment more, "I was planning on feeding off enough of your energy to change into double of you," His cheeks were red as he rubbed the back of his head slightly. He was sure he could look like her but acting was a different story...

Markus snorted as the demon was made to spill his guts, "Sorry don't mind me I'm just going to make your friend stop looking like seasick fellow," He mixed a few fresh herbs together then poured some water over them. Letting it set for a minute or two he then poured it off into a cup straining out the herbs. He then held it out to Patrick, "Drink. It will make the sickness fade."

Patrick hesitated a little then nods as he accepts the drink and does as told. He started to feel better and was grateful for it.

Mary regards Hexel a moment. To become her double? Something told her that would only work so well. She shakes her head a little before speaking. "How sure of that plan are you?" She searched his eyes for the truth.

Paul was pacing now. He didn't like the idea at all but it seemed Mary was going to try just the same.

Hexel blinked at her slightly, "It would work in a pinch but likely not as well as having you there. I can only copy so much after all."

Markus patted the Patrick on the shoulder, "You should feel better soon."

Partick was grateful and was feeling better but now he was getting concerned about what everyone was planning. Facing a demon with a demon and that Mary had it in her head to be bait.

Paul was shaking his head again. "He knows what he is doing Mary, you should let him do it."

Mary narrows her eyes now as she looks at them both, Smokey still held in her arms. "Do you both realized that even if Hexel tries to pretend to be me, he'll know it's not me. He'll know! And as soon as he does, he'll disappear and start trying to find the real me or disappear again."

Hexel nodded slightly as he huffed, "She has a point. He has fed more than I have there for it would be easier for him to realize I'm not Mary..." The demon heaed to the kitchen to get some food. All this talking made him hungry and cranky.

Markus smile softly, "There might be a way to sheild her though it would take some time to get ready...." He was talking out loud to himself at this point.

Mary looks over to Markus and nods to him. "If you can and it will get Hexel to let me do this then please what do you need?" She asks carefully.

Paul was not in a good mood and kept pacing again. She would be in danger and he didn't like that.

Patrick had returned to the couch again and was doing all he could to not stare at the body on the floor or the female water sprite that he was still fascinated by.

Mary glanced to her phone as she saw the screen up before it began to ring. She picks it up seeing that it was Mathew.

Smokey hissed in her arms and jumps down, scurrying to the kitchen where Hexel was.

The cat alarmed had worked better than he thought he mused as he plucked the phone from her hand before she could answer it. He had used her shadow andd the tiny shadown next to the fridge the teleport, "You don't answer calls for a while," He answered it and pressed it to his ear after turning the volume down so Mary couldn't hear the voice on the other end.

"Greetings. brother," He smirked slightly as he moved to the window, "I hope you aren't thinking of using that boy. It will not end well."

Mary blinks as the phone was taken from her. She hadn't made the connection until Hexel said those words and she tenses up as she could only hear his side of the conversation now.

She tried to listen intently and hear something but Smokey was back over to her and messing with her pant legs so she had to pay attention to the cat or risk falling. She was really starting to feel betrayed by her cat now.

After a moment he switched to a language no one really had any hope of understanding. Their back and forth carried on for a few moments more before Hexel glared at the phone. The other had clearly hung up on him. He held the phone out to Markus who huffed as he found the tiny mark on the back of it that Hexel had added at some point, "You know I really hate how you demon can just think of something and it happens."

The demon chuckled before he ran a hand through his hair then turned his attention to Patrick, "I really should put a ward on you before I forget. Wouldn't want you wondering out by chance and ending up like the lass. Paul. Could you put that body in your car? It won't decay as long as it stays wrapped up in the sheets Ashiki brought it here in. The head has a charm on it that does the sam thing."

It was amazing how quickly Hexel worked as he set about getting ready. The wards he had placed on Mary would need a little updating he mused softly as he headed into the kitchen to finish cooking.

Mary listened to the words but she had no hope of understanding anything that had been said between the men. She shakes her head and looks out the window. It was bugging her. She wanted to know what was said but she could tell that Hexel wasn't going to tell her any of it.

Paul nods at the instructions and got up to do as such. He carried the body out to his car and placed it gently in the trunk. Then he went back inside and got the head. Once all was in the car he went back upstairs.

Patrick blinks a little but nods at those words.

Mary had watched Paul move Cassie before she couldn't watch anymore. So she was staring back out the window again.

Hexel made lots of food and served it out to every one. He brought Mary her food, "Don't let him own you," He told her as he handed her the plate, "Eat you will need the strength it offers," As would he. The better she was the more he could draw without damaging her soul. He smiled as he noticed the strawberry plant had a flower finally, "Look," he pointed it out to her, "Hope is an emotion humans have that demons have a hard time understanding."

He had spent much time around humans just trying to under stand this one simple emotion. It was that combined with the will to live that made humans formitable to demons. Markus ate slowy as did Ashiki who hadn't had food like this in ages.

She looks to Hexel and nods at his words. She wanted the bastard dead. Accepting the plate of food she did as told and began to eat. It tasted wonderful and she relaxed a bit.

As he points out the flowering strawberry she did smile. " even in the darkest of moments there is a light." She murmurs. She nods to him and smiles again. "It's one thing that always made him angry when he had me. I always had hope I would get away from him. If by death or being found."

Paul and Patrick ate quietly. There wasn't much to say now. Just waiting.

He kissed her forehead, "Keep it up," He told her gently, "Mary will be used to drawl out the demon," He told the other's quickly before looking at her, "I'll add a few other marks that will allow you to grab him momentarily so Markus and Ashiki can bind him. Then I will do my thing."

Paul was not happy about hearing the words. "Anything I can do to help?"

She nods at his words. "When do you want to do this, trapping him?" She asks carefully. It was hard to keep herself mentally prepared for this but she kept the words in her mind. It was going to be her strength.

She finishes eating not long after. Smokey was sitting at her feet watching Mary.

Hexel tilted his head to the side as he tried to think then nodded, "Keep you officers from getting in the way. I won't stop from bringing them harm if they step between us. Watching two demons fight over something isn't a friendly affair and is bound to draw attention why don't need."

Markus agreed quickly adding, "For the most part you would also need to keep the civilians at a distance as well."
