Dark Stuides

Mary was playing with Smokey, letting the large cat chase a string around her. She smiles and shakes her head. "I think you've been given too much bacon." She teases to which the cat seems to huff are her.

Patrick began to stir as he smelled the food. Stretching a little before sitting up. He runs his fingers through his hair and looks around a moment then sees Mary and Hexel at the kitchen.

Hexel huffs in agreement with the cat, "Food is one of the few thing one enjoys when they live for a long time. Leave the cat be and come get some food," His gaze dances over to Patrick, "Breakfast," He called. Markus sat upright then clearly still half asleep as he got up and wondered over to the bathroom and closed the door behind him. The demon arched his brow then gave a shrug, "I would say his soul's still on the astreal plane."

Mary rolls her eyes. "That may be true but she can get sick if she gets too fat." She says, getting to her feet, she moved to the table and gathered a plate up.

Patrick didn't have to be told twice about food as he too got up and got a plate.

Mary looks to Markus as he got up. Turning her gaze to Hexel. "Will he be okay?"

The demon gave a shrug at the question, "Warlocks tend to be a hearty bunch but he used a lot of magic and not all of it his own," He explained lightly, "Using magic that isn't your own puts high strain on the mental and spirital well being of a person. On top of that he wasn't at his best emotionally when preforming the spell he did. The emotional toll makes it all the worse. Even a demon would be in a state similar to his had they done that."

He made a plate for himself then handed it to Markus as he came out of the bathroom, "Eat."

The warlock seemed a little surprised as he blinked up at the demon, "Why did you make me breakfast?" The demon simply pushed the plate's edge into the other's chest forcing him to take it or risk wearing it. Sighing he found a place at the table and glanced over everyone else.

"Assure Mary you are alright while you are at it," Hexel grumbled slightly before making another plate this time he kept then sat down next to Mary. He ate without much talk after that.

Markus smiled weakly at the female, "I'll be alright I'm still recharging my batteries so to speak."

She wanted to roll her eyes at Hexel but was more concerned about Markus. Maybe they should have waited to trap the demon until Markus would be alright. She was in such a rush to deal with the demon that she hadn't thought about the toll it would have on anyone else. She smiles gently at the warlock as he was instructed to reassure her. "Then you will eat and rest here until you feel more like yourself. Besides, Smokey likes you." She smiles softy to him.

Patrick was still a little confused about everything but didn't complain as he ate his own breakfast. It was amazing and filled him up well.

The warlock's suddenly flustered face as he tried to come up with a reason that wouldn't work was some what cute. After a few false starts he sighed then nodded, "I'll stay but not any longer than need be. It's dangerous enough I slept on your couch all night. Likely the only reason some random beast didn't show up was thanks to Hexel's mongrel scent being every where," He was at least awake enough to banter with the demon. They oddly acted like long lost buddies from time to time, "Hell you might never have to worry about another soul bothering you with him at your side looking like a hell hound on a leash."

Hexel's ruby gaze danced quickly up to glare at the warlock, "Oh? Well if I remember correctly. Your sort aren't too good alone. When do you plan on a bride? to clean up after you?"

The bantering carried on for most of the morning. Markus stepped outside for a bit and sat down on the steps. The bantering had been a bit of a show while Hexel shared his magic with the warlock to make him better quicker. Rubbing his face he sighed softly, "How odd that demon is."

Mary smirks a bit and listened to the words. She would make sure that both Markus and Patrick were alright before she let them leave here. It was only right and besides, friends were rare. Though Markus did have a point, Hexel did stop a lot of things from bothering her, which was good.

Patrick finished his meal a little after Markus had gone outside. He looked to Mary. "Thank you for letting me stay here." He said glancing to Hexel then he looks back at her. "I think I may move back home.. Finish school there."

Mary looks at him carefully. "You are sure? Last time you said you were going to do that...you had a hard time?" She questions.

Patrick nods a bit. "It was...but I think it's time I go home. The house is still there, neighbors have been taking care of it. I've hid from it long enough." He smiles a bit. "I better get home and start some packing...I'll stop by before I leave." He gets up, waves bye to Hexel before heading out the door.

Mary was surprised but at the same time glad that the boy was finally going to face that pain.

Markus relaxed happily enjoying the sun on his face. Hexel listened to the two humans chat while he cleaned up breakfast. He turned slightly to study them. It was interesting to watch them.

She hugs Patrick as he leaves and watches him go. She looks to Hexel. "I worry about him but not so much anymore."

Patrick waved bye to Markus as he walked down the steps.

He patted her head, "Worry for the helpless not for those that merely aren't ready to face that which they fear," he says softly as he moved to finish the dishes.

Markus was surprised to see Patrick leave, "Be safe," He called after him.

Patrick turned and smiled at Markus, waving again before disappearing around the corner.

She smiles a little. "I worry about everyone....can't help it."

The demon smiled as he moved around the house checking on the plants and what not, "I'll take you to the realm of the fae tomorrow evening if you are okay with that," He glanced at her as he folded the blankets the two guests had used. Once done he placed the at the end of the couch with the pillow on top of them, "It will be a gentle intoduction to some of the many different sort of beings you will see in the other two realms."

Mary smiles warmly to him. "I'm excited to see it." She moves to the sink and sets her dishes in it. Turning the water on, she gets the water soapy and gets into the routine of cleaning all the dirty dishes. "Is there anything I need to be careful about? I don' t want to disrespect any of the beings there." She says as she glances to him from over her shoulder, smiling again to him.

Smokey had found one of her old toys and had taken to tossing it around and catching it. Mary looks to the cat and smiles. "I need to get you some new toys huh?" She received a meow and that look that could only be expressed as duh. Smiling again, Mary laughed a little. "Should have expected that to be your answer." She says.

Hexel moved over to her and leaned his hip against the counter, "Fae can act appalled but most of the time they really don't care they simply like seeing other beings they feel they can teach a thing or two to or get something from. Don't accept anything they give you," He states softly, "No matter how innocent they look. They are as old as I am if not more in some cases. They have royalty and they tend to be well behaved most of the time. One might take favor of you and decide to spoil you. That should be fine but don't take their kindness lightly. They tend to do such things out of respect for the fact your are human and have the ability to make them stronger."

He rubbed his head slightly as he heard Markus entering again, "To hell with it. You're taking her there? Why not just take her straight to Hell without visiting the fae?"

The demon huffed at the human, "I'm taking her there so she has an idea of what to expect from demons. Fae don't like to run up against demons too often as they end up dead or miserable for the rest of their existence."

She nods softly as she listens to his words carefully, processing it all because she really didn't want to get herself in any trouble.

Blinking she looks to Markus and smiles a bit. "I really do want to go." she eyes him a little. "Speaking of that....would you be okay with taking care of Smokey for me? She already seems to love you and I don't think taking her with us would be at all good. " She says softly.

Markus blinked at the request then nodded, "Sure. I'm sure you'll want me to take care of the garden too?" He pointed at the plants that grew happily at the window, "I don't mind. Just don't forget you are still human and there for are very weak compared to the beings in the places you will be going to."

Hexel stuck his tongue out at the warlock before moving away slightly.

Mary rolls her eyes a bit at the two then smiles warmly water the warlock. "We'll be as safe as possible and careful. "

Smokey meows softly and rubs around Markus's legs.

"See she likes you already." Mary smiles warmly.

Markus chuckled at the cat, "That's because I smell like catnip likely. It was one of the plants I had at my shop," He smiled.

Hexel shrugged slightly as he headed into the bedroom for a moment. While she would likely want to pack her own things he had little to stuff into a bag.

Mary smiles again. "I'm sure there is more to it than that." She says as she watches her cat rub around Markus' legs a bit more.

She moves feet and heads to the bedroom as well. Smiling softly to Hexel then going to the closet and pulling out a small duffle bag. She wasn't sure what to pack but decided on comfortable jeans and shirts ,nothing that would be irritating to wear and then the essentials like under garments.

Hexel smiled as he watched her out of the corner of his eye, "Are you sure you won't want to stay here?" he asked her. The male didn't want to take her from a life she was enjoying for one that would be jarring yet exciting.
