Flames From the Past (1x1)

She blinks at them both, wanting to argue the subject but she could tell she wouldn't get very far.

"I just don't want you thinking I'm not gonna work for all you're doing for me. I can pay for things and before you say anything it's not about pride, just how my parents raised me and the lessons they taught me are all I have left of them."

Dustin turned to stare at her, "It's about pride for me. I don't like up rooting people and have done so to your. While you don't mind it any I do. My pride is very important to me. That's why I say if you want a place just state so."

With that he headed towards the car, "Don't worry," Molly told her, "He isn't mad at you in the least. He just can't get his heada round you."

Monica stared after him blinking a bit. She looks to Molly. "Get his head around me?" She asks curiously. "What do you mean by that?"

Monica blinks again at Molly. Now she was really confused. What had she missed because clearly she had missed something.

She followed after Molly and got back to the car so they could go check out the next place. Still a little puzzled.

The next house was a little closer to work and had many of the same things as the last place. It was a 3 bedroom two bath with a half an acre yard with the pool taking up jus a fourth of it. A hot tub sat next to the inground pool, "This is nice. You could get a pet if you wanted," Molly winked playfully.

Dustin was busy checking over the various things inside the house.

Monica blinks a bit and smiles. "I've always wanted one..." she looks around at the backyard. "It's a beautiful view." She says and looks to the pool and the rest of the house. "I like this one. Feels comfortable." She says softly.

Dustin leaned against the doorway to the back, "It is nice. Roomy without feeling too big."

Molly nodded, "Oh my I think we have found the place but lets think it over during lunch," She headed back into the house as her phone rang, "Emma,' she chimed in greeting, "So nice to hear your lovely voice. We will be there in a few minutes just finished looking at a place for Monica."

Monica nods softly. She was all about thinking things over first and she found herself starving now. Food sounded like the best idea. "Sounds like a plan." As Molly was on the phone she went over to Dustin. "Don't you have any books about the demon you think is after me I could read?" She asks curiously.

Dustin shrugged, "It's possible one of the fae might but I don't think you would be able to read their language," He patted her shoulder, "Don't worry to much. as of now all of this is just a procaution to make sure you don't end up injured or worse."

Molly returned a moment later, "Emma's waiting for us at Antonette's," The vampire purred, "Such yummy food..."

Dustin nodded as he motioned for them to lead the way back to the car. It was a short drive to the restraunt. After they entered a lovely red headed waitress invited them to follow her. It was easy to tell that this was the usual meet up for the trio. Emma was seated in the back of the restraunt in a booth that already had a bottle of wine and platter of bread and butter. The woman looked just like her twin brother but more shapely and beautiful. If any one had guessed she was the angel not him.

She nods a little at his words. It wasn't just the idea of knowing what she may face but knowing what had done all this to her to start with. She was curious to know, wanted to know but he was right, maybe it was all just precautions.

Following the way back to the car, she thought of the new place a bit more. She couldn't think of any reason not to like the place.

Once at the restaurant she followed them to the booth at the back. She smiles to his sister, wondering about little how this will go.

Emma smiled softly as she tilted her head to the side. Her brother sat to her left Molly to the right. It was left to Monica to decide where to sit. Molly quickly stole the attention of Emma by gripping her chin and kissing her deeply. Both women seemed to enjoy the lazy yet annoyed look Dustin gave them, "If you two want a booth to yourselves then just say so."

Molly burst into laughter while Emma pouted slightly, "But it would be no fun if you weren't there to frown over the whole affair," Emma quickly told him before turning her attention to Monica, "Hello! Sorry to make you uncomfortable. I'm Emma!" She held her hand out to her.

Monica wasn't sure who to sit by but decided to sit next to Dustin. Once seated she blinks a bit as the two women kissed. She wasn't used to seeing such signs of affection and found herself blushing a little.

She shakes Emma's offered hand. "It's okay. New experiences are good so I'm told." She smiles a bit. This was all so new to her. She found herself not minding though.

Emma chuckled slightly, "It all depends on what the experience is," She glanced to her brother, "Though I imagine you will have many new experiences in the days coming."

The waiter came by finally to ask for drinks and inform every one of the special. Lobster bisque soup with a side of steamed broccoli and salad. Dustin went for a glass of the wine that had been brought to the table along with a steak with shrimp pasta tomato soup on the side. Emma decided on a grilled chicken breast with a large watermelon salad. Molly ordered a steak rare with a lobster tail skip the veggies.

"So Dustin tells me you will be his new secretary. It's about time he decided to fire that witch," Emma sipped her wine.

Monica smiles softly and ordered the special with a Pepsi to drink. She was so hungry now. It was probably good.

She looks to Emma when she mentioned the secretary job. "Yes, I have some experience with the job but not a great deal." She admits.

"Look I'm not sure what they have told you about me. I tend to be hard on most others I don't know well but looking at you I can feel that you are are a good soul at heart. Also as long as you never deny me the joy of causing my brother hell we will be just fine," Emma explained. Molly chuckled while Dustin rubbed his temples. Emma was the straight to the point sort. How long it took her to get to the point varied but she tended to be very quick.

Monica arches a brow at the words but smiles. "Something tells me that's going to happen a lot." She says smiling again. She looks to Dustin and smiles a bit. "As the old saying goes if she didn't love you she wouldn't pick on you." She teases.

A snort of laughter came from him, "Oh dear you haven't the slightest idea what she does to me yet. Don't say it is because she loves me it's mearly because she can get others to pay her for my torture."

Emma gave a shrug, "Ain't my fault you got the body of a god and many women and men want a bit of you. Even if it is just a glimpse."

"Oh right which is why you have stalked my bathroom with cameras that I've had to dismantle left and right..." He shook his head, "Monica I warn you never shower in my house. You might be found on film."

Molly was full on laughing her ass off by this point. Oh she enjoyed these people.

Monica was now blushing as the conversation went on. It was clear her life was more...clothed and she barely talked about such things. There was no hiding her blush and the obvious signs that she never talked about the subject.

She manages a smile through the blush. "I'll keep that in mind about your shower..."

He nodded then leaned back as the meals were served. He dove right in giving his sibling little chance to get something important out of him. Molly savored her food slowly the blood pooled on the plate it wouldn't stay there long. No she would mop it up with a slice of bread before eating it like it was the best thing in the world. Emma was a delicate eater taking her time as she tasted each thing.
