How Green Becomes Wood

"We probably will go back, everybody was nice enough." Daizi replied, "We'll tell Matt and Sean about it too, if it seems to really be a good place."

"What do you mean her 'new fellow'?"

"A scent making store just opened, I think they do candles or something like that, and they are very near this marvelous Italian restaurant. What do say to you, Ghalib, Jack, and myself going to dinner and a spot of scent sampling?"

"Dark has to drink an absolutely disgusting amount of wine to be unsafe to drive," Daizi said, "But it's probably safer to avoid it. He's right here, so I'll ask him if he's interested to go."

"Just give me one moment, okay?" Daizi asked before handing her phone to Dark. Distantly, she could be heard asking him to put the call on mute before it went silent.

"...What are you asking me?" Dark asked warily.

"Sally thinks the four of us should go on a double-date," Daizi explained, snuggling into him as she talked through her friend's idea for candle making and Italian food. Dark inhaled but before he could say anything, Daizi said, "It's with Jack and Sally, it's not like we're going out clubbing or getting couple's massages as a group of four. I'll have a great time and I'll get to go home bragging about what a great husband you are because even though you don't enjoy socializing very much, you did it anyway to make me happy."

Dark looked at her for a few moments before deciding he couldn't argue against that, "Okay, we can go. But we need to have a date just the two of us to make up for it."

"Oh no, how will I cope?" She teased, kissing his cheek, "Thank you."

"I love you, Spider."

After he unmuted Daizi's phone, he handed it back to her so she could say, "Dark agreed!"

Sally squeaked in excitement. "Wonderful news! I can hardly wait to see you both again. I have been to a place like this, so it will be quite a new experience. I have eaten at the resteraunt, though, and it was quite good."

"You are so welcome!" Sally assured her. "Oh! Peter would like to know if it would be all right for him to come hang out with the twins and Ivy while we were out. How do you feel about that?"

"Oh sure, I don't mind. I trust Peter, I don't have any worries about him causing trouble." Daizi told Sally, "It would depend on if the twins would want him over, but they can handle that conversation on their own."

"Thank you, darling. I'll let him know he needs to speak with the twins, then. I'll ring off and let you get back to your evening. See you soon!" Sally hung up after Daizi's goodbye and went to tell Peter and Jack the plans.
