How Green Becomes Wood

"I think we challenge each other and help make each other more well-rounded people," Sloan shrugged, "I mean, our house would have an absurd number of protein-based items but I think we'd both be really high achievers together."

Xander considered this opinion for a moment before shrugging and nodding. "All right. You've got a point there. We could have a pretty power-couple dynamic. But what would your mother say?"

"You could always elope," Alec grinned while Rumy laughed.

"So you're not Jewish," Sloan shrugged, "You'll convert, and in our culture the kids are raised in the mother's religion, so it's fine anyway."

"And she'll hate whoever Sloan marries anyway!" Claire added, grinning.

"Well, there's a problem right there, because I have zero interest in converting," Xander drawled.

Rumy snickered. "Right, well, while you two hash out your first fight as a couple, I'm going to get going. See you later!"

"Bye, Rumy! Have fun with dehydrators!" Alec called, waving happily.
