Becky lucked out and got a decent color palette of a rosey red twice, two neutral tans, a coral red, a light pinky color with a light glitter three times, and a sagey green twice. Six colors was still a wild combination, but at least they more or less went together. She was rather delighted and proclaimed she was going to wear it to school.
Peter got the coral red three times in a row and complained jokingly that it was weighted. Then he got a glittery dark walnut color and remarked that he actually rather liked it, even if he'd never wear it on a regular school day. Then he got a sparkly purple twice, a pastel pink, and three sage greens. It wasn't the prettiest combination, but he accepted it with grace.
Alec got the dark walnut color twice, the glitter pink, three cobalt blues, a very nice lavender twice, and a rather unfortunate shade of green. He laughed and promised to wear them at least one day at school.
Emma's first choice got her a very nice, subdued shade of pink, and she almost sighed in relief. Then she got the same unfortunate shade of green as Alec, a bright silver glitter, sunshine yellow, glittery bright blue, glitter magenta, vibrant red, sparkly purple, spring lavender, glitter green, and two pumpkin oranges. She put on a brave face, but it was pretty clear she was horrified, and there were no promises to keep it. At all.
"How did you manage to only get one repeating color?" Alec asked in shock as he helped her clean up her last finger polish.
"I don't know," Emma said a little stiffly.
