How Green Becomes Wood

"I think so," Daizi replied, "I do yoga, so... I don't know, I feel like it's helpful. And I've done handstands before... never unassisted and not for very long, but I'm counting it."

"I don't know anything about it in any practical sense," Daizi said, not mentioning how her 'handstands' were just kicking her legs up in the air and having Dark catch them and hold her up. She was pretty certain she wouldn't be able to do it without that, "Can you do a cartwheel?"

"No mats or spotters?" Daizi asked.

"I know," Dark replied, helping to steady Ivy back on her feet. She was a little dizzy, but it was a fun dizzy, and quickly flopped happily against her father with a bright grin on her face.

"I'm good without a spotter, but if you're worried about the mats, I'll just wait and try another day," Xander said easily.

Alec clapped for Ivy. "You did it too, Mini! Well done!"

"But I need mats?" Daizi asked, trying to fight back a grin, "I thought the grass is soft."

Ivy said something, but while she did, she turned her face to press against her father so whatever it was couldn't be heard. She certainly didn't seem interested in repeating it, her brief attention span already refocused.

"If you don't want mats, go for it, and enjoy the bruise on your hip where Mini usually sits," Xander said, straight-faced but teasing.

"Okay, bye, Mini!" Alec called and cartwheeled away. He would have tried a flip, but he wasn't confident enough yet to do it without something soft, at least.

"I probably would, but falling is an entire part of the sport I'm involved in, so I'm very good at falling. Even better at it when there's no one there to get in my way," Xander pointed out. "If it was something like a flip, sure, but it's just a cartwheel. Going round and round. Little kids learn to do it without help all the time."
