How Green Becomes Wood

"Like what?" Sally repeated, surprised by the question. "Well, things like, I won't stay five minutes past when I said I would. If I do X thing, then I shall reward myself. Sometimes I do the thing without the reward, or I give myself the reward without doing the thing. It is a terrible seesaw of have I or haven't I earned the thing. Or it will be, I will not allow myself to fall into my mother's desired conversation topic. That one is a constant."

"There is a lot that is important about politics, I do not wish to disregard that, but sometimes... Also, I would very much like to have a conversation with the person who is currently encouraging Facebook to show certain things to certain demographics," Sally said grimly. "If I have to hear one more time about how Aunt Truly read that this particular herbal supplement cures whatever ails you..." She took a deep breath. "Never mind."

"This is awful but I sometimes think social media needs an upper age cut off," Daizi chuckled, "The things some of my aunts and uncles tell me they read as though it's true... It's horrendous."
