How Green Becomes Wood

"He'd better not have gone to find food without me," Xander scowled. He didn't want to show his concern. They were in a public space with a lot to see and do. Alec was probably fine, just got distracted. That was all. He glanced at Daizi. "Well. Now what?"

"Now we wait, unless you have a secret twin telepathy you've never told us about," Daizi said.

Dark, meanwhile, went off looking while he continued to push the stroller around, "Ivy-Qadira, do you see your brother anywhere? Where is Alec, where did he go?"

"Nope. Just a strong feeling if he's in trouble, which does not apply when just lost," Xander groused.

Just then, a voice came over the speaker. "Dark-Wahid family, Dark-Wahid family, please come to the lost and found. Your son is waiting for you." The announcement repeated in Arabic.

Xander looked toward the speaker. "Found him," he remarked.

Daizi put her hand over her mouth and laughed, "I'm never letting him live this down!"

Hearing the announcement, Dark only shook his head and turned around to reunite with Xander and Daizi. All the while, he griped to Ivy about how foolish her brother was. Then he looked at his other relatives and said, "Do you know where the lost and found tent is? I saw a first-aid tent, I presume it is nearby."

"I think it was near the entrance kind of by the first-aid," Xander said. "I'm not positive, but that's a good place to start."

The lost and found tent was, indeed, near the entrance, close to the boldly marked first-aid tent. It was fairly small, but well shaded. The two people working at the tent, a man and a woman, were talking to someone about a pair of lost sunglasses. Behind them were several well-marked tubs, boxes, and crates. What had started out as a clearly marked organization system had obviously degraded over the day, with larger items draped over the table or set on the floor. There was even a guitar.

In the corner sat a familiar red-headed teenager with his red covering still on his head, humming to himself as he sorted through a couple of boxes of mixed items, putting them in their proper places.

The woman came over and smiled at Dark and Daizi respectfully, covered in a Hijab. "Hello. Are you looking to claim something? Or turn something in?"
