How Green Becomes Wood

Clicking her tongue, Daizi made a curious noise and knelt down beside Xander in the grass. On the other end of the yard, Dark was playing a game with Ivy, so she was fully occupied and not likely to disturb them. "I'll have to look into that, we'll have enough to try it at least."

"I don't think I've ever tried cold soup, but it'd be interesting to try without going to a fancy restaurant," Xander said. He found a few berries and plucked them off carefully.

"I keep wanting to get an ice cream maker, could you imagine the sorbets we'd be able to make with all of the berries I grow?" Daizi asked, "Or a berry-vanilla ice cream."

Xander paused to look at her. "Mama, that is a brilliant idea. We should absolutely do that, and get a good one," Xander said seriously.

"I know," She sighed, "I keep saying I will. Maybe this is finally the year, I just worry I'll waste my money on one that doesn't work well." She turned her head to the side, hearing Ivy laugh, "Last year we fed Ivy her first solid food and it was one of my strawberries. Now she's nearly two."

[BookKnight]

"A really nice one is probably at least kind of expensive," Xander mused. "Maybe we could get one as a family gift to ourselves and all pitch in for one. Could read reviews and stuff and find a good one that's not, you know, uppity-resteraunt level of fancy."
