Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

Justira smiled at that "back before you know it" she signed before slipping away to head out with the others, afraid that if she didn't get going she would be too afraid

"Hey it's not goodbye, it's just an "I'll see ya later" he said with a smiled "and don't you worry Lynna, I'll be here waiting for you" he said before stepping back as Justira came to lead the way, the only one who knew exactly where they were going

"Alright, then!" Lynna said, clapping her hands. "Let's get going, shall we?" She shouldered her pack confidently and smiled at Justira. "You lead, I will be right behind you," she signed.

Badru fell in behind them, watching Justira patiently as he followed her. He would look out for her.

Justira gave a node and a final glance back at Gray before she lead the way out. She had been outside a few times of course since they had gotten there so she already knew which direction they had to go.

The sky was clear and the sun was shining, melting away the last bits of the first snow, not full on winter yet so it could be a little while before they next, but then again, it could come tomorrow. Misty could attest to the unpredictable nature of the weather even with all the fancy equipment, the weather still managed to surprise them

Badru walked along with head high, watching for danger. Nothing would surprise them if he could do anything about it, weather or animal. It was nice to be out and moving again. The cave was good, but with such limited resources and chores, he was starting to feel a bit twitchy. Now he could walk with straight back and heavy spear in hand.

Lynna walked right behind Justira, mostly watching her instead of the environment.

The days journey went unhindered, nothing bothered them and the weather stayed clear and sunny, Justira somehow seemed more confident out in the woods, her hands always touching the plants or tree's they passed, almost like she was in her own little world and they weren't there at all.

As evening approached she lead them right too a cozy little spot sheltered on three sides by thick tree's that had grown close together and stunted because of it so the branches arched lower and created a sort of cave out of tree's. It would be good shelter for a clear night like this

"This is a really nice place to stop," Lynna both signed and said as she looked around. "You picked a good spot, Justira."

Badru surveyed the area and added a few branches here and there to make a sturdier wall around them. It was an easy adjustment to make. This was, indeed, a very good spot.

Justira smiled faintly at the praise, she couldn't exactly tell them that the tree's themselves had guided her to the spot where they would be safe. Gray might understand or at least be willing to accept but she was still scared of sharing too much with the group. Knowing she could heal was enough she thought.

She sat down against one of the tree's tired, her feet a bit sore "What do we have for rations?" she signed to Lynna

Lynna started hunting through her pack. "We have some dried fruit, dried meat, and bread which will probably be dried after a couple of days in a pack," she said with a smirk. "I'll see if there's anything easy to hunt for while Badru makes the fire. Maybe we'll get lucky and have squirrel for dinner!"

Justira nodded "Just don't wonder far, I saw signs of a wild cat a little ways back" Justira cautioned, glancing out into the woods, she'd be fine as long as she didn't wonder far, their presence had scared it off for now, but one person alone? she wasn't sure if the cat would stay scared off by that

Lynna thought about making a joke about cat claws being useful but decided not to scare Justira. "I will stay close and be quick," she promised.

After Lynna slipped out, Badru knelt and began making a fire for warmth and protection. Most animals stayed away from fire. Plus, if Lynna did manage to get fresh meat, they would need to cook it.

Justira quietly watched Badru as he made the fire, glad she had decided to give him a chance, her people and his type were not usually friendly towards each other, not violent but just not friends either. She wished she could tell him this but he didn't understand sign, maybe she would ask Lynna to translate later. For now she just leaned back against the tree and closed her eyes to listen to the tree's and plants around her

Badru soon had the fire burning small but hot, and he sat in the entrance to their little make-shift hut and watched for danger and Lynna.

Lynna returned after about fifteen minutes, proudly baring a rabbit. "Look what I got! Smacked it in the head with a rock. I didn't think I'd hit it at that distance, but my aim must be improving."

Justira smiled "You are becoming quite the hunter gatherer Lynna" she praised when Lynna looked her way "But maybe let me cook it?" she teased with a smile

Lynna made a face at Justira but then grinned and handed it over. "Okay, but now you have to clean it," she teased when her hands were free.

Justira laughed silently and took the animal with one hand amd pulled her knife out with the other and set to work getting the skin off. She didnt like handling the dead animals but she knew how and would do it without complaint? Part of life was death

Lynna did lend a hand to help her clean it up and toss out the innards where the wild animals could get at them without being drawn to their camp. "How are feeling about the trip so far?" she asked when they had a quieter moment. "You seem happy out here."

"I am happy out here. The firest is calming to me" she knew most of them were a bit more nervous in the forest, outside the cave but she liked it, she could sort of hear out here. But she couldn't tell Lynna that. Not yet, maybe never, she wasn't sure.

Lynna considered that as she looked around. "I guess I could understand that. I don't fully get that feeling of calm, I feel more like adventure and hide-and-seek, but that's probably because it's not my home yet."

Justira smiled "You're also a much more active person than I am Lynna and we are different people, what I find calming you may never see that way, and that's fine" she signed back
