Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

he jerked a little and tried to stay still "Two days... maybe three days..." he answered him. The cut was fairly deep, needed to be flushed out and disinfected somehow. He'd tried to bandage it himself but hadn't done a great job of it

"Alright. Let us get that clean." Badru turned and spoke to Lynna. "Ask Justira if she will help me clean this."

Lynna nodded and translated for Justira. "You don't have to use your talent, but even so you are better than us two at dressing wounds."

she nodded a little "Of course" she signed "I brought a small kit with us just in case" she signed before she fetched it from her pack and came closer to the man, glancing briefly at Badru, trusting he would protect her. this guy had grabbed her, not really an attack but he had held a knife to her.

Tijani watched her as she gently set to work cleaning the wound, staying still but hissing in pain.

"Her name is Justira and she cannot hear you," Badru said, watching Tijani closely. "This was the home of her clan. She is probably the only one left."

Lynna kept back, watching for other dangers. She'd put her knife away but still held her baton.

Tijani nodded faintly "I am sorry, it is hard to lose your clan" he frowned "Tell her I sorry she to scare her. " he said before flinching a bit, it was a nasty gash to clean up but she was being as gentle as possible

Badru nodded and touched Justira's shoulder lightly, waiting for her to look at him before saying slowly and clearly, "He is sorry he scared you."

Justira offered a small smile and put a hand on the strangers shoulder and gave a little nod, silently telling him it was alright before she went back to work on getting him patched up.

Before to much longer before she was finished but stopping to help them would set them back a little on time. Naturally Justira did not want to stay the night here

Lynna was thinking the same thing as she joined them. "Hey, what if we go back to the last place we camped at and stay the night? Tomorrow we can come back early, clear out as much as we can, then get home."

Badru considered the thought carefully. They would be a day behind schedule and probably moving slower with Tijani if he chose to join them, but that may be the best course of action right now. Finally, he nodded. "Yes," he agreed. "Tell Justira the plan."

Justira nodded a little to the plan but signed "We don't have to go back that far, just out of sight of the burrow and I'll be fine" she said, that way, they wouldn't be set back quite as much

Lynna nodded. "That's fair. As long as we can find a good place. Do you know of any?"

Badru, meanwhile, moved to help Tijani up. "We go to find other shelter," he told the man.

Justira nodded "Yes, over hill there is a spot" she signed and pointed to a hill not too far off in the opposite direction they had come from

Tijani accepted the help up, wincing a little but it wasn't quite as bad as before

Lynna nodded then told Badru where they needed to go. "He can make it that far, right?" she asked, jerking her head toward Tijani.

Badru nodded. "I will help him. You go ahead with Justira. I will follow."

Lynna touched Justira's elbow and signed, "Badru will follow us to the spot while we go ahead. You look for the place, I'll keep an eye out for trouble."

"I just want to get one thing first" she signed before going back into the burrow.

She came back after a few moments with leather bag, giving a nod she was ready, they could come for the rest tomorrow. They needed to get settled for the night.

Without explanation she headed off towards the hill. As promised there was a nice little spot they could shelter between some boulders, a roof had been built over the top with some branches sealed up with clay, Not a huge space but enough for them

Lynna eyed the bag curiously but forced herself to respect Justira's privacy and not ask. She followed Justira to the shelter and looked around testing it. "This is really sturdy! What did it used to be?" she signed to Justira.

Badru followed more slowly, offering Tijani support where needed.

Tijani did pretty good actually, a warrior of his clan, not as experienced as others, but had proven he was strong enough and was proving it again now. Still he did need some help over the top of the hill

"Used to be storage space for food until we finished the burrow" Justira answered "Not been used in many years" she added before she found a spot to sit, she caught Lynna's hand and motioned for her to sit with her a moment

Lynna sat down with Justira, watching her curiously as she waited to see if the other woman wanted something.

Badru was patient with Tijani and did not press his help onto the other, but he was there if needed. He eyed the old storage room in aproval and nodded.

Justira first opened the bag, hesitating a moment before she signed "I know Faelar was fond of you, he'd want you to have this" she took out a bone handled knife with soft leather wrapped around it and a leather sheath and a belt strap. It was a good sized knife, a proper hunting knife

Lynna stared in shock. Slowly, she reached out and gingerly took the knife. "Wow!" she breathed, looking it over. "Wow..." Unexpectedly, she felt tears pricking at her eyes. "Poor mouthy guy."

Justira watched her as she accepted the knife from her, giving her a moment to look it over before she signed "He was very proud of it, made it himself" she told Lynna and gave a soft but sad smile, she missed him terribly

Lynna quickly wiped away the tears before signing in return, "I will take good care of it! Thank you for giving it to me. I won't disappoint."
