Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

She nodded "it's ok..I inderstand" she said softly but still scared "be safe Gray.." she had few friends and Gray was particularly important to her.

She glanced into the crowd, taking a deep breath to still her nerves before she headed into it before she lost her nerves

Gray winced, hating himself as he once more headed toward the council. He wasn't to worried about Lynna. She was tough and scrappy. She'd find a way out and up. She always did manage to keep herself one step ahead of trouble. Jonha... he had no idea.

Misty was just the opposite of Lynna, quickly getting pushed and shoved into the the thick of it, desperately clutching her bag, grimacing every time someone bumped her still healing shoulder

So many panicked bodies talking shoving pushing. She couldn't see the walls now.

Someone bumped hard against her injured shoulder making her cry out and stumble forward, trip and fall. Never good in a mob of people.

Suddenly, big hands wrapped around Misty's waist and pulled her upright, lifting her off her feet briefly. Then those same arms wrapped around her, hugging her to a solid chest with Misty facing outward, his body hunched slightly over her.

"Watch were you're going, savages!" a familiar voice snarled. "Stop rushing! You're going to get people killed!"

Misty's heart skipped at first, not knowing what was happening but then heard his voice and she couldn't be more glad to hear it. She made no attempt to pull away from him, letting him protect her from the crowd.

"Mathias, he has a safer way out" she said as soon as she collected her nerves and thoughts again. She hoped he could hear jer

Jonah looked down at her, his green eyes sharp. "Mathias has a what?" he asked, bending closer to hear her. Someone jostled them, and he turned away long enough to snarl some questions concerning the person's heritage before turning back to Misty. "Do you need to get to Mathias?"

Misty nodded, with her good hand she pointed towards a passage ahead "a way out" she finished, trying to speak up more without anyone else hearing her

Jonah nodded and half carried Misty toward the passage. He shouldered stragglers out of the way, trying to avoid families but having no qualms with the bigger men. Suddenly, he braced himself. "Hold tight!"

A young woman barreled head first into them and bounced off Jonah, landing on her rump. "Hey! Watch it!" Lynna yelped.

Misty preemptively braced herself when Jonah warned her. "Lynna!" She called in surprise "come with us!" She tried to speak above the noise so she could hear

Lynna stood, rubbing her butt. "Where the heck have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Jonah grabbed her arm and hustled her forward with Misty. "Never mind, get moving."

Misty let Jonah guide the way, trusting him to keep her safe and now Lynna too. Feeling much safer with those two with her

Thankfully the passage wasn't crowded at all being the edge of town. "There" she pointed spotting Faelar and Justira pulling the ladder down

Jonah grunted and hurried the women along toward the two Top Dwellers. "Oi! Hold the ladder!"

"Faelar! Wait up!" Lynna called.

Faelar paused and looked over. Justira going up without noticing them. He waved for them "hurry!" He called.

As they got to the ladder they let Misty go first up. She tried not to go too slow with her throbbing shoulder.
When she neared the top Mathias helped her the rest the way. He guessed Gray or Pepper had sent them to him

Lynna ran up like a squirrel, giving Mathias a cheerful salute. "Hello, sir! Welcome to the end of the world!"

Jonah went up last, pulling the ladder up behind him. "Sir. Sorry to intrude."

Mathias chuckled "or the beginning of a new one" he smiled and glanced them over "Pepper or Gray send you then?" He guessed

"Gray. Not seen Pepper" Misty answered

The air in here was fresh and the moonlight helped them to see.

"No trouble Jonah. Glad you're all safe. Come on in and get comfortable. Nothing to worry about in here"

"Where are Pepper and Gray?" Lynna asked, looking around. "And the big guy? Bud thing."

"Badru," Jonah said. "Is Pepper down in the engines?"

Mathias nodded "She went down with Badru to try and get things running again, guess she couldn't" he frowned, clearly very worried, the engine was down quite low, she didn't have long to get back up before the emergency generators went out. "Not seen Gray..." he added, glancing over at Peter who was busy getting the adults some water so they could sit and rest while the chaos went on without them.

Lynna huffed as she glanced toward where the ladder was. "Gray's probably gone off to talk to the council and help with the exedus. I hope he has someone to translate for him or it's going to take him a long time to get anything across."

"Not much we can really do but wait... going down into the chaos will help nothing" Mathias said, as much as he wanted to go and find his sister he knew that was a very dumb idea "He knows where we are, we should stay put... "

"Wish we could help," Lynna said wistfully. She winced when she heard a bang somewhere down below. That didn't sound good.

"They are too busy making their own messes to take any help," Jonah grumbled.
