Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

He smirked and strolled closer "well well. Told you I'd get you Pepper. Now Peter will be mine no more drama. My boy"

"No! Don't... please," the voice wavered. As Allen grew closer, the figure dispursed into the shadows, and the voice faded away. There was nothing there, but the shadows hung heavy around Allen.

"Your boy?" whispered a strange voice that echoed strangely. "No more drama? You are right in one reguard. Peter is not yours, but there will not be any more drama, Allen. No more drama at all." A new figure formed, strangely incorporeal.

Allen stared into the darkness "what the hell.." he took a step back "who is that? Who's there!" He demanded of the shadow

"Your deserved reward." The shadow became solid form. Gray stood before Allen. He moved faster than he should have been able to. A dagger slashed across Allen's throat. Then Gray was shadow once more. As if he'd never been there.

Before he could even think to react his throat was slashed..his eyes widened and his hands went to his throat, choking on his own blood as he went to his knees, blood gushing out around his hands and out his mouth.

It didn't take long before he collapsed to the side

The knife fell from the shadows without fingerprints. Without blood. It clattered to the floor and slid away to fall into a crack. Allen's body lay where he fell as if no one touched him. Gray was gone.

Lynna came back in, brushing droplets from her hair. "Hey! It's a madhouse out there. It's raining, but it's a lot nicer than what we lived through. They are all panicking and acting totally nuts, though."

"Hopefully someone will take charge. I can't deal with that just now" Mathias said glancing over as he was returning to his sisters side with the sterilized needle and a bottle of pain pills

"Half of the council is out there. They can deal with it," Lynna said dismissively. Then she frowned. "Whoa... What happened to Pepper??"

"Her damned ex husband is what" he said as he knelt beside her and helped her take a pill to help the pain.

"Bastard took advantage of the chaos..." he didn't care Peter heard. He should know what kind of man his father was

Lynna muttered a few sour words to herself then glared at Badru. "Right. And where were you this whole time? Huh? You're supposed to be some kind of warrior protector person!"

"I failed," Badru said simply.

"Don't blame him" Pepper said "you saw the chaos. Not his fault" pepper added. She didn't blame him so nobody else had the right to.

"Badru has the bleeding stopped?" Mathias asked, ready to clean and stitch up the stab wound

Lynna scowled but didn't pursue the issue. Instead, she turned to Justira and Faelar. "Are you two okay?"

~~

Gray was lost in the swirling mists. He needed to get out... or did he? He could stay here. There were others who deserved to die. Others who needed to be stopped. He could do it. He could make them stop!
No... no, he was not a vigalante! He could not do this. He needed to stop. One was enough. One was too many. He shouldn't have done it, but he needed to keep Pepper safe.
He pulled himself away from the shadows and staggered, falling to his knees. He hunched over, dry heaving. Slowly, he got his body under control, but he could not stop the violent shaking. Slowly, he lifted his head. Mathias' door was not far. He crawled, reaching out. He managed to knock on the ladder, then his arm gave out and he fell onto his side. It was too much. He hurt so bad! He was too tired. He curled into the fetal position and closed his eyes.

"Yes we are fine. Gray warned us ahead of time and sent us here" he explained before he heard the faint knock on wood. "Dod ya hear that?"

Mathias set to work on Pepper. The pi not fully working yet she grabbed Badru's hand and squeezed it against the pain "sorry sis..." Mathias said gently

"Good," Lynna sighed in relief then frowned. "Hear what?"

Badru held her hand in both of his, squeezing gently. He said nothing, but he looked at her intently. If he could have taken her pain, he would have.

"A knock" Faelar got up and went to the hatch, opening it up he could see the ladder had been pulled down.

Frowning he climbed down and nearly stepped on Gray "hey!" He called up "its Gray! He hurt I think!" He called up before touching his shoulder "Gray?"

--

Pepper grit her teeth and closed her eyes still gripping Badru's hand.

Mathias tried to be as gentle as possible but was no doctor

Gray flinched, instinctively pulling away from the touch, his body visibly trembling. He was cold to the touch.

Lynna hurried to the stairs and practically tripped down them. "Gray? Gray!" She knelt and touched his forehead. "He's freezing! Gray, are you hurt? Where?"

Jonah slowly sat up, pulling away from Misty. "I should go see what's going on."

~~

Badru patted her hand gently. "Almost. Near finish. You do well."

Misty nodded and let him go, pulling the blanket tighter around herself.

"We need to get em upstairs" Faelar said worriedly. "Come on friend..let us help ya up"

--

Finally the pain killers were working and Pepper relaxed some. She couldn't feel it as much but the pain was still there with every stitch

"Are you alright down there?" Jonah called down the stairs.

"No! Everything is not okay!" Lynna yelled back up. "Come help us! I can't carry Gray up!"

Jonah came down and frowned. "You, Fae something, can you take one side? I'll take the other." He knelt and took Gray's arm. Gray gasped, the sound barely audible. It seemed that touch itself hurt.

~~

Badru looked at Mathias. "She is better?" He did not mean right away.

Faelar helped him lift Gray "hold on Gray" he said gently, helping get him him the stairs.

Misty was quick to get up and make room for him on the couch as they brought him in.

"What's happened to him?" She took off thr blanket she had been using and put it over him instead, pre warmed up blanket.

--

Mathias nodded "she'll be fine..Allen not as good an aim as he thinks..."

"I don't know! I don't see any blood or anything, and he's not acting like there's broken bones," Lynna said, helping Misty wrap him up. "Maybe poison? I really am at a loss. This isn't my field."

Jonah shook his head. "Nor mine. We'll watch and wait."

~~

Badru studied her silently for a moment. "I have never wanted to kill another man before," he said quietly in his own language. "Not like this. Those that killed my people, I desire justice, but not by my hand. This man I wish to see dead with my own eyes."
