Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

"Well....then..I will teach him" she said "but they have no written language so..be easier of I can learn a little of his first" she reasoned that much" she smiled and couldn't help but glance over at him again. he was handsome she thought. Strange she hadn't noticed before..maybe because she had been otherwise distracted or..maybe because she was growing fond of him

Lynna's grin broadened. "Him learning your language might count toward him being a lot more willing to stay with you, you know. Besides, doesn't look like he's going anywhere right now."

"Good point" she said and smiled more. It was a nice thought.

"You know...you could stay here with me tonight..so you're not alone"

"Are you sure?" Lynna asked, brightening. "I'd like that, but only if you really don't mind."

(Aparently this did not post.)

"Don't mind at all" she smiled "I get what you're feeling and I don't want to be alone either...I've had Badru...I should have realized you'd need someone too...we went through a lot"

"Well I assume he does but I've only been awake today so...honestly not sure where he sleeps" she said truthfully she glanced down at the words she had been studying and the alphabet but lacked the right ones to ask him

Lynna left for a minute and soon returned dragging an empty bed. She shoved it up next to Misty's then stretched out to stare at the ceiling. "Hospitals are boring," she stated.

Badru leaned over a little to look at Lynna then returned to his original position. Why was she here? He'd thought this was a place of healing, but she did not appear injured. Maybe she lived here. Or perhaps Little Water Droplet lived here and wanted her to stay? At least she did not seem so alone anymore. That was good... though it meant he would soon not be needed.

(Awwww T.T Badru!)

Misty smiled "yes they are" she agreed and sighed "but the quiet is..kind of nice" she said, setting the papers on the side table for now

"So..." Misty wasn't useually a social person. She didn't really know what more to talk about

"Maybe you could tell me more about this other language," Lynna yawned, but it was clear she was already falling asleep. "If you practice, you could get..." She yawned again. "Better faster."

Misty smiled a little "maybe another time. Right now I think we voth need sleep" she answered softly before she sat up a bit to pull the pillows out from behind her then looked at Badru. She flattened her hand and laid her head on it like she was sleeping then held out one of the pillows to him "sleep?" She hoped he understood.

Weather or not he did she wasn't sure but when he did take it she was satisfied then laid down

In the morning Mathias came by and after talking it was agreed that Badru would accompany her home and Mathias would try to talk to those in charge who might object to the arrangement.

And so Misty lead him home which meant walking through public halls and a lot of people giving them a wide birth.

Eventually they got to her place situated below where she worked. Given her important position monitoring the weather and communications. She had a larger home at least so he could be a bit more comfortable. No way could he have comfortably crammed into a place like Peppers for example.

Misty had a proper living room kitchen/dining bathroom a small office space more like a closet and her bedroom in the back that featured a good size closet and room for a dresser and larger bed and a small nightstand. A lot of people would consider her place roomy and luxury even. There were places bigger though.

Misty unlocked the door and stepped in and waved for Badru to follow her.

The front door lead directly into the living room she had a couch and a coffee table and a painting on the wall but that was about it.

"My home" she motioned around with her hand "uuh" Mathias had taught her this one "home" she repeated in his language. She had only tried a few words that morning so it was rough

--

Pepper never did move from where she had cuddled up with the blanket, sleeping there all night until she woke up a bit confused and disoriented. Not used to waking up anywhere but her own bed. Only took a moment for it to click though "Gray? Peter?"

Badru stooped to enter the house and had to stay stooped when he entered. Ah, well, it was better in here than it had been out with the peope. He'd been certain he was going to accidentally step on one of these tiny people and they would take it as a deliberate sign of aggression. Better to deal with a backache than deal with their weapons. To solve the back issue, though, he dropped to his knees when he felt Little Water Droplet was not going any farther.
He was not entirely certain why he was here. Yes, Mathias had attempted to explain, but the groundling's speech was not perfect, and Badru did not understand much of his culture. Badru recognized that misunderstandings were going to happen, and he accepted that, but it would be nice to be able to understand for certain if Little Water Droplet was keeping him as a trophy, being generous with her space, or had claimed him as a mate. He had his doubts about the last thing, but one could never be certain with another culture.
Muscles rippled as he crossed his arms over his still bare chest and looked around. Were there any dangers he should be aware of?

~~

Gray left his chair and knelt in front of Pepper. He touched her shoulder and smiled, waiting to be certain she was paying attention before he attempted to sign anything.

Misty was both excited and nervous about having him here. She didn't entertain much and had lived on her own so long, certainly wasn't used to roommates.

She blushed a bit when she noticed those muscles again but she shook it off and smiled. Mathias had written down some things she could try to say to help explain things.

She looked down at the paper "uh.." she mumbled to herself as she read over the options she had to say to him.

"Make...self...comfortable...." she struggled with the words as she read, brow wrinkled with concentration "my home. Your home..while stay" she told him and looked up to see if she had said anything he understood

--

Pepper looked up at him and slowly sat up "good morning Gray...it is morning right?" Hard to tell sometimes living underground like they did

While stay? What did she mean by that? For as long as he stayed or she stayed? Oh well. It was a place for now either way. He dipped his head in solemn acceptance of her words, his unwashed hair swinging against his cheeks annoyingly. It would be rude to ask for a bath, so instead he just knelt where he'd chosen out of the way and where he could see every corner, his eyes following her, waiting patiently.

~~

"Morning," Gray confirmed. "You were asleep, so I walked Peter to school. I think he will have a good day, and I shall go to pick him up afterward. I hope you slept well. I know the floor is not the most comfortable bed."

She smiled, happy that he seemed to understand what she was saying. That helped and gave her more confidence to go on "place to...make food" she pointed into the kitchen then went on again. Teying to give him a tour.

"oh yes this one is impoetant" she said to herself before reading "Place..to wash...and relieve self...." She read then waved for him to follow her again.

She went to the hall and pointed to the bathroom

--

"Thanks for taking him" she said, not sure she could have faced the students parents and teachers when they saw her like this. "I slept fine don't worry about that"

A place to wash and relieve yourself. That was nice and convenient. Especially considering he hadn't relieved himself since he'd arrived down here. No one had told him where to do it, and it was rude to ask. He moved slightly toward the room instinctively then stopped himself. What was the polite thing to do here? Not wet his trousers, that was for certain, but beyond that. He looked to the tiny woman for permission.

~~

Gray tipped his head, frowning slightly. "I cannot tell what it is that is worrying you," he finally signed. There are many possibilities, but none fit right. Will you tell me?"

"Oh..you need to..ok" Misty stepped in first to explain motioning to the toilet "Relieve" she pointed and flushed it for example then to the tub, turning on the tap and plugging thr bottom "wash" she picked up tje soap to show him and made scrubbing mostions on her arm with it. She turned off the tap and unplugged it again before she stepped out of the room and motioned for him to go ahead

--

It was scary sometimes how well Gray could read her. She sighed softly "I don't...think I could face the other parents like this...I made a huge mistake and...put Peter at risk...they already pitty me being a single mom" it was difficult to admit but if anyone could understand he could

Badru inclined his head in understanding and stepped into the room for cleansing oneself. He took a moment to familiarize himself with the taps and how they worked, turning them on and off and discovering the shower. This was not actually too far removed from what he'd had before, but far more streamlined and temperature controlled.
When he finally came out, he was clean head to toe, his black hair glistening and tied back in a ponytail. He still wore his ratty trousers, but even they looked cleaner. Cleansing rooms were quite convenient and efficient. He looked for Little Water Droplet, concerned he'd spent too long away from her.

~~

"Are you sure they pity you? Pity and empathy are not the same thing. Being a single parent is very difficult, and you are brave to face it alone."

While he was doing that she had gone back to her room and was making a bed on tje floor for him so she could explain where he could sleep. She wished she had something more comfortable for him to lay on but this would have to do for now.

She was still struggling a bit with just one arm to get it put together when he came out. Her arm would be in a cast and sling for awhile yet
The room was at the end of the hall, the door left open so he would be able to see her

--

Peller sighed "I don't know..it feels like pitty..I don't talk to them much anyway and even if it isn't pity I still couldn't take the looks I'd get now"

Badru noticed the small woman and walked down the hall, moving in a hunched position as he made his way through the short, narrow passageways. These grounders really did live like moles. Nothing seemed to be any bigger than it needed to be. An efficient use of space, but Badru had thought that everything they did was extravagant. This certainly put that idea to lie.
When he reached the little woman, he dropped to one knee and tried to see what she was doing. Oh, a bed. That was easy enough. He reached out and started straightening the blankets for her.

~~

"What looks?" Gray asked. "What is so terrible about these looks?"
