Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

Pepper was finally taking a rest, taking the time to mend Peters shoes, he'd warn them out pretty well but he needed something to protect his feet and they hadn't a lot of furs yet to work with. Noticing Badru she looked up and smiled a little "Looked like you had a good hunting trip"

Peter glanced over at her boy "As long is he is with you... then I know he is safe" she nodded "He needs to learn" even if she didn't like the idea of him out there, she knew it was important

Pepper sighed and set her work aside. "If I am being honest, yes I am afraid. I know what dangers are up here but I also know how to manage a lot of it. I was raised in that house we were staying in" she explained to him "So I need to put my fear aside and help the others"

"It is wise to be a little afraid," Badru said gravely. "Fear remembers our... our ability of death." He meant their mortality, but he didn't know the words in this language.

"Mortality" she provided the word for him, understanding what he was trying to say "Fear reminds us of our mortality" she nodded a bit "and I agree, it does.. I admit... I do feel safer with you here.. more brave"

Badru's cheeks would have gone pink if his skin was a lighter tone. Instead, he just nodded. "I will do my best to always protect," he said soberly."

Lynna walked over then. "Am I interrupting?"

"I know" she said softly and smiled a little but before she could say anything more, Lynna was there.

"No, Badru was just asking if he could take Peter on the hunt tomorrow" she answered "Can I help you with something?"

"actually, I was going to ask if you minded trying your hand at foraging tomorrow while I took a turn at brick building," Lynna said. "If Badru and Peter already have plans, though, I guess I could ask Justira."

"No let Justira rest" Pepper said shaking her head "I can go forage I know what to look for. Maybe take Arena with me and see if she can teach me anything I don't know...Perhaps get to know her a little, help her fit in to our group more" seemed like a good enough plan to her, distract her from thinking about Peter out hunting

"Darn, I was hoping to get her help with bricks, but I suppose that works, too," Lynna agreed. "Alright, it's a plan for tomorrow!

"She needs the rest" Pepper said, knowing now what she had done and could do, she could take all the time she needed to rest.
"Thanks Lynna" she added with a smile "Food is starting to smell good, what were you two cooking up over there?"

she smiled a little "Well sounds like we will eat well today then" she said, glancing over at Charlie as he was turning the birds over and checking to see if they were ready, he seemed happy about it so far

she smiled "Good he found his niche" she said approvingly "But he will need to learn other survival skills too... hunting and things of that nature"

"I've been helping him with the hunting side," Lynna said proudly. "And speaking of Charlie, I'm going to see if he wants any help." She headed in his direction to help with the food.

Badru stood back quietly, waiting patiently. He wasn't sure if he should stay or go right now.

Pepper looked up at Badru after she left "Badru can.. I ask you something?" she asked him, not sure if she should bring anything up at all but sooner rather than later was best right?
