Mathias nodded "Good plan" he said before noticing Lynna, he offered her a smile "Need something Lynna?" he asked

"What do you mean you don't fit?" she frowned slightly "You fit much better than I do, You're brave and you can fight, much more able bodied" she tried to encourage him
 
"Oh, right," Lynna said, remembering what she was there for. "Justira says her old home is about two days' journey away, and she says there might still be some food and stuff there. Maybe we could go check it out? Maybe Jonah or Badru and Justira and I?"

"And all that is just sugestive," Jonah shrugged. "I'm not that brave, and no more able-bodied than you. I can fight, but I can't hunt."
 
"That's not a terrible idea" he said "Not knowing what the weather holds makes me a little nervous though. If you get caught in a snowstorm do you know what to do?"

"You are too brave" At least as far as she was concerned "And you're wrong, you're must stronger than me which makes you more able bodied and knowing how to fight gives you an edge on hunting I should think. So don't sell yourself short. We're all learning how to live up here still, give it time" she leaned over and kissed his cheek affectionately
 
"Find shelter or build shelter, stay together, build a fire if possible," Lynna said cheerfully. "I'll even make certain to take some dry wood with us to make into a fire."

Jonah smiled at her softly. "If you won't let me sell myself short, what makes you think I'll let you sell yourself short, hmm?"
 
"how do you build a shelter?" he quizzed, wanting to make sure she could really handle this. He didn't object to them going, but he worried which was reasonable.

She smiled a little "Well then I suppose we will just be building each other up then"
 
"Big branches, big leaves or those needly type, lots of layers, and make it sloped," she supplied.

Jonah grinned and gently ruffled her hair. "Darn right we can."
 
he nodded a little "Good" he sighed and looked up at Badru again "feel up to taking a trip?"

Misty laughed lightly and shoved his hand away "I just brushed out this rats nest now come on"
 
Badru hesitated then nodded. "If I am required," he said slowly. He didn't really want to leave, but he supposed the group traveling would need protection, too.

"You look good with a nest," Jonah grinned but sat back. "It looks good brushed, too." He wondered if his hair was as much of a mess as it felt. He didn't usually do much with it.
 
"Well I can't go, it's your or Jonah" he glanced over briefly at Misty and Jonah "I'd feel better if it was you" Badru knew the surface world better than Jonah and he felt he would be better protection for the girls "Up to you" this wasn't the army or something, he could say no

Misty blushed lightly and smiled "You're sweet" she smoothed her hair with one of her hand "But I think you're just bias" she added with a little smirk
 
Badru hesitated then nodded. "I will go," he agreed. It was better than Jonah. He respected Jonah, but also knew in this case, he was better suited to the job.

"That's possible," Jonah nodded with a slight smile. "Is that a bad thing?"
 
He nodded "good..then as long as weather stays clear you'll go at first light...make preparations today. Take rations for a couple days in case of a storm" he instructed "otherwise travel light. The more space for things to bring back"

"Well I'm not complaining, though I have to ask.." she hesitated then shook her head "Nevemind" she didn't want to risk anything, just happy to be noticed and loved
 
Lynn nodded enthusiastically then saluted. "Yes sir! You got it, sir!"

Jonah raised a brow. "Ask what?" he asked. "Come on, ask."
 
Mathias rolled his eyes but smirked lightly "at ease soldier" he joked. He still did not see himself as leadership material but none the less he would lead as long as they wanted him to.

Misty shifted a little before she spoke "why me?" She asked him seriously, fidgeting with her pencil as she spoke
 
Lynna wrinkled her nose at him. "I'm no soldier, but you sure are a bossy captain!" she teased back. "A pretty good captain, too."

Jonah frowned, not sure he understood the question. "Why you what?"
 
Mathias chuckled shaking his head "I am no captain" he insisted "but thank you" at least he could feel he was doing something right.

" I mean...why do you like me?" She asked, looking up at him "I mean...after that whole cannibal thing...you didn't talk to me...I thought you didn't like me at all..then you saved me in that tunnel..." she had gotten mixed signals from him and now wanted to understand them
 
"So, you're just a bossy nobody?" Lynna grinned.

"Oh." Jonah thought about his answer. "Well, I thought you wouldn't want to be around me, and I thought maybe you'd think I was trying to take advantage of you while you were hurt. I didn't want you to get the wrong idea."
 
"Well it sounds even worse when you put it that way" he laughed "wouldn't have to be bossy if people quit looking to me. Not my fault"

She nodded a little "that makes sense I suppose..." she said, satisfied enough with that answer "one more question...when are you going to kiss me?"
 
Lynna waggled her eyebrows. "So you're saying your position is open?"

Jonah blushed brightly. "Well, I didn't want to be forcing myself on a lady, would I?" he stammered.
 
"There's no position. You have just as much power as me or anyone else"

Misty blushed when he did, being bold was not her strong suite. "It's not forcing if I want you to" she pointed out
 
"Uh-huh, sure I do," she said dryly. "Anyway, I need to get back to bricks. I was going to ask Justira if an Idea i had would work." She all but skipped off back to work.

"And do you want me to?" Jonah asked, leaning toward her.
