Land Down Under (KJDarKnight & Treasure)

Justira smiled a little more and reached up to touch her cheek where she had wiped the tears, touched that she cared. seemed like he had sort of been forgotten after everything, good to know he hadn't been. "I know" she signed after pulling her hand back

Lynna cleared her throat and tried to get ahold of herself. She carefully attached the knife to her belt so it hung proudly on her hip. She drew it a couple of times and tested to make certain it was at a good spot for her.

she nodded "I know" she answered simply before getting into her pack to start preparing their dinner.

looked like leftovers as the rain started to drizzle outside, cold but not a heavy rain, they would be fine for the night as long as it didn't get any worse

Badru quietly kept himself between Tijani and the two women. He didn't make a big deal of it. He just happened to always sit between them. He was willing to trust Tijani, but he wasn't going to be foolish.

Yet another calm night passed though Justira found little sleep. She thought she could handle stay this close but evey timr she thought about it. Back came the memories

Understandably she was up at first light getting some food ready for everyone

Badru woke next, Justira's movements rousing him from his light doze. It wasn't the type of sleep that could be kept up indefinitely, but it would do until they returned hom. He rose and started helping her get ready for the day.

Lynna woke with a groan not long after and stretched, wincing. "Ugh, my back feels like I'm fifty!"

Their new friend remained asleep, his body needing rest but he seemed fine, no signs of fever just resting.

Justira was busy cooking their breakfast so didn't notice Lynna had said anything but noticing the movement she looked up

Justira gave a nod for a simple yes while her hands were busy

Tijani shifted, opening his eyes slowly before sitting up straighter

The man visibly relaxed and nodded "thank you.." he lifted his mask off when Justira offered him breakfast.
He had pale eyes as they had seen of course but his strong jawline amd the fee scars across his fsce had bren hidden along with his dreads hidden under the rest of the head dress

Lynna looked up at the stranger and pointed at him. "How long have you been out here on your own? And are there more of you?" she asked, stirring her finger a bit.

Badru glanced at Lynna then translated for her. Sort of. "That is Lynna. She wants to know everything about you," he said a bit dryly. "I do not think she knows how to not ask questions."

Tijani chuckled "curiosity is not always bad" he said to Badru "now is not good for questions. You have home to get back to yes?"

Badru dipped his head. "Yes. Do you have somewhere to go?"

Lynna waited impatiently for her answers, but Badru didn't seem inclined to tell her yet, so she sat tapping her finger on her arm.

He shook his head "not until spring now. I will never catch up to my clan. They go far for winter" he explained. They followed the herds. "I planned to stay here for winter.."

"Here is not good," Badru said. "I think you could stay, but want to come with us? There is room for another, and we need help carrying all this."

Tijani gave anither nod "if I am no burden.. I can help to carry and help find food and all" he could contribute, more so when he was healed. He glanced at Lynna then "what questions did she ask?"

Badru thought back to Lynna's questions. "How long have you been here and how many of you are there?" he said as best he could remember.

"Here? six days" he answered with a bit of a frown, felt like longer struggling as he had been. "My clan, there are not many, small, maybe thirty of us" he seemed happy enough to answer questions for her, he could understand why they wondered about him

Badru translated for Lynna patiently, getting a bit of an understanding of how Justira must feel.

Lynna leaned forward eagerly. "Really? Only six days? Wow, I thought for sure you must have been here for months! Where are the rest of your clan?"

Badru told her they were following the herds, and she frowned.

"But, wait, why did they leave you behind? And how did you get hurt so bad?"

Badru turned and translated her question as close to word for word as he could get.
