Mina - The Sanctuary
As soon as the man presented the glass of water to her, Mina took it from him and gulped it down greedily. It was only a few seconds until the glass was empty as she relished the cool, soothing feeling on her throat. She rested the glass in her lap with a satisfied sigh. Mina looked back at the man and gave him a ghost of a smile.
"Downcast? I suppose I am..." Mina looked back at the glass, her smile fading again, though her voice was returning to normal. "Last I knew, I was wandering in the desert because I got into my head that I could be some kind of hero and find the Daemon's Cradle with the rest of the group. But then I got lost, because apparantly sandstorms are
very hard to see in, and sand actually hurts a lot when it's moving at a few hundred miles an hour. Anyway, when I woke up I was alone, had no water, no food, and the others were nowhere to be seen; just me and the sand." Mina turned the glass over in her hand as her eyes narrowed. "I guess part of me hoped they would come back for me, but you know Envoys, they never really care about anyone anyway. I don't know how I ended up here, but I do know that I
don't have the Daemon's Cradle and that I don't see any Envoys around, so clearly they never came back and I just got lucky some other way." Mina scoffed before looking back at the man with a grim smile. "Needless to say, I don't think I'll be going to the beach anytime soon."
As was usually the case with her, when Mina got talking she couldn't stop until she'd cleared her mind, regardless of the poor unfortunate victims that were forced to listen to her until she was done. And, as was usually the case with her, Mina didn't even realize she'd probably said too much until it was too late to take the words back. Realizing it now, she closed her eyes and sighed, running her fingers through her short, silver hair. "Sorry, that probably didn't make much sense. Though to be fair, I
was wandering in the desert for at least two days." She laughed humorlessly before opening her eyes again to reveal a storm of emotions going on inside.
