She gave him a sideways look; a glare, but with amusement.
"What if I remain where I am?" Kitty asked in reply. She was enjoying this little game; there weren't many nights she could have a go at it past her initial refusal.
"I could always hope," Clancy said wryly. "Once we get settled, perhaps you can move your sleep schedule to sleep later in the day and therefore stay up later at night."
"Fine," she mumbled quietly. Kitty nestled herself under the covers, lying on her stomach, and pulled the blanket up to her chin. Stung, but not badly. He probably had places to be, after all.
