"Sounds bad when you say it like that," Kitty commented under her breath. "There's a camp on the south edge. Doubt they'll take kindly to seeing you wearin' all black like a thief. Those people tended to be a little touchy on who they let hang around."
"That's alright," Clancy shrugged. "I was homeless, myself, for a time. Granted, that was over a hundred years ago, but need and despair rarely change. I brought a few tools to that end."
"This little town? Not really," Clancy replied. "I suppose it might be able to support two, but not all vampires are interested in leaving their prey breathing."
"Most of the time, yes," Clancy confirmed. "Now and then I do not bother, but is now really the time to be having this type of discussion? I thought we were seeking you homeless people."
"You have inordinately skewed priorities," Clancy said blandly. "But if that is the case, are there not more worthwhile things to learn right before death?"
