The air was cooler in the afternoon, but humid as anything. Warm days meant sticky sweat clinging to one's skin, walking through invisible walls of moist air; darkness, when it finally appeared, would be relief. The sun, though having dipped lower on the horizon, was not yet to the point of sunset, neither would it be when they finally made a way back to the hotel. A small while after, perhaps, but not immediately, as if the fading daylight were giving the two familiars a break from their exercise before a new adventure was bestowed upon them.
