Ancient Forest (1X1)

Sarah stayed curled up in the sleeping bag. She managed to sleep rather soundly for a while. Her breathing was steady and she remained like that for a few hours.

Slowly she started to wake after a while. The nightmares still clung to her mind. She tosses and turns a little before waking suddenly. She was trembling a bit and she looked around her.

When she woke up she could see Purple watching her, who was quickly concerned about the sudden awakening. "Hey, are you alright? What happened?"

She stared at Purple for a moment before she managed to collect her thoughts. She sits up a little, running her fingers through her hair. "I'm okay. Just a bad dream is all." She smiles a little to him to try and reassure him.

He nodded and relaxed some. For just a moment he glanced back towards the woods, then turned back to face Sarah. "Don't mind me, you can return to sleep if you'd like."

She looks at him again then realized it was only him there. "Where are the others?" She asks curiously to him.

She lays down in the sleeping bag again as she curled up once more. She looks yo him as she listens to him.

"We thought you needed a shelter to sleep in, so that you're not out in the open where things could happen. So we're taking shifts in keeping an eye on you while the others work on a little hut. It's the best we can do right now with the materials we have."

She blinks a bit at his words then nods a little. "Thank you." She smiles a little. "Never really had my own place...always lived in other people's home." She says honestly.

She yawns again and slowly starts to drift off again, closing her eyes. "Thank you."

He smiles and nods, continuing to keep an eye on her while she sleeps. As Purple said, the demons exchanged the job of watching her occasionally, and most of it was just making sure nothing tried to attack her.

She slept for a few hours more. Her bo st had been so exhausted and the sleep had been needed. As the hours slipped by, the nightmare had started again but this time it was a little different.

She felt trapped in it for a long time. It was the pendant pulsing against her chest that finally woke her. She blinks a bit as she looks around. She was used to the nightmares now but that one had felt darker.

Sitting up a little she rubs her head a bit then runs her fingers through her hair to untangle the long strands. She smiles to the brother who was currently watching her.

She looks to Orange a moment then manages to nod. "Yes, I'm okay. Just a bad dream is all. I'm okay." She ran her fingers through her hair again before pulling it into a braid gently.

He nodded and relaxed, just like Purple had before. Though he still seemed somewhat worried, with how absorbed in that nightmare she seemed to be before she woke up.

She could see in his eyes he was still worried. She smiles gently to him. "I am okay. Honest." She says to him. She finishes braiding her long hair and gently touches the pendant. It felt warm to her but it was a soothing warmth.

"I know. It was just a dream. But... with Red's dreams about the doll maker lately, it's starting to seem like these kinds of things can mean more than what they seem to be. Even if it was just a dream, the extra precaution to make sure nothing happens just seems right."

She gazed at him a moment. His words sinking in. "I see what you mean..." She shakes her head a little. "I grew up with them. Strange things. It was woke me the night in the tent. " She says honestly. "I've gotten so used to them I've never thought of them as anything more. You have a point though..."

"I didn't mean to scare you or worry you about it. Maybe what I said was just worry for my brother passing onto you."

He paused a moment, seeming to be lost in thought. "... I just never want to see Red in any distress, cause that's not the kind of example I want to set later on. Red's practically my idol, and since I'm second oldest, if he ever disappears, I'll be the one left in charge. I just want to follow his example so that I can make him proud when that time comes..."

She looks to him quietly a moment then says. "You already do." She says smiling softly. Then adds. "It is good to worry though. It allows us to be more cautious when doing something."

He nodded, smiling softly as well. Then he rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about that whole spiel, I didn't mean to drag you into personal stuff when you'd probably rather be sleeping. You can just pretend I'm not here.."

She looks at him. "I'm here to help you and your brothers. We need to know more about each other. Don't be afraid to talk to me about things.
" She says smiling softly.

He was silent but smiling, glad to see that she seemed so understanding. He just didn't want to say anything since he knew she needed her rest, and he didn't want to keep her from that for much longer.
