Ancient Forest (1X1)

She shivers a little and let's herself relax. She looks to him. "I don't understand why you are apologizing. You've been starving for so long..." She shakes her head a bit. "Its only natural."

"I don't want to have to feed from you, but seeing all the humans in town... I couldn't control it. You're the closest thing we have, so I knew I'd have to turn to you to satisfy that hunger. But I won't let myself do that again."

She looks at him. "Why? It's what I'm hear for....its why I came back." She says as she looks at him. She was concerned that if he didn't feed...she pushed that thought away.

"I know, but..." He trailed off, then shook his head and stood up. "I can't really explain it. But, thank you for letting me do this for this one time." He then turned and started out of the hut.

Sarah tensed a little as he moved to leave. She stands up and moves after him, touching his arm gently. "It is okay. You don't have to old back or hide anymore." She says softly, wishing she could ease his pain.

"Why would I have anything to hide?" His tone turned serious, he didn't look at her now as he spoke, and he gently pulled his arm away from her. "I am a demon, and you are my sustenance. That's all we need to know about each other." With that, he left. Even though he didn't show it, he instantly regretted acting like that to her. She just wanted to help him, but what could she do?

She flinched at his words but she didn't chase after him this time. She just watched him walk away. When he disappeared from sight, she sat back down in the hut on her sleeping bag and began to go through her bags and organize some things.

She managed to get a lot of it done and snacked here and there as she went. She decides to put the bathing suit on and heads to the beautiful water.

Swimming would get her mind off things she hoped. She walks into the water and starts by doing a few laps. She didn't realize the pendant had started to glow though.

One of the brothers stayed up in the nearby tree watching her, just to make sure nothing happened to her. He didn't notice the glow of the pendant, really he wasn't paying that much attention.

Meanwhile, Red had returned to where the boys had been buried, but instead of 'paying respects' like before, he was pacing back and forth as his mind was racing. Why did he say that? He had never intended to be so rude, and usually he wouldn't be. So what had brought that on?! And how could he make it right with her?

The water felt wonderful to her and she just swam calmly. It did help to ease her mind but that was the problem. She had dropped her guard.

Reaching the middle of the water she treads a little and that was when she noticed the pendant glowing. She frowns at it before suddenly she felt something grab her ankle.

Before she realized what was happening she was pulled under the water.

Seeing this, the brother that had been watching her, Purple, leapt into action. He spread his wings and dove through the air to the river. Not wanting to just reach in and grab something random with the intention of getting her out, he paused for a moment, hovering over the water, to search for some kind of silhouette or bubbles from her breath, something that would let him know where she was.

She struggled beneath the water as she claws at what was holding her ankle. She couldn't get free. The pendant began to pulse.

For a moment she was able to break the surface before being tugged back down again.

Purple quickly took this opportunity to try and grab her hand, or anything that would allow him to get her out of there. As he got closer to the water and his hands went under the surface, he thought he could see her pendant glowing. He tried to follow that light as he attempted to find her and get her out.

Sarah was panicking and fear was clinging to her. As Purple broke the water's surface what was holding her suddenly released its hold on her ankle.

He continued to follow the pendant's light until he finally grabbed something that felt like... a shirt collar, hopefully? Whatever it was, in hopes of it being Sarah, he tried yanking it up out of the water and was mentally crossing his fingers.

She felt something grab hold of her. She felt too weak to struggle anymore. The glow from the pendant had faded and as soon as her head was above water, she began gasping for air. Her body shaking and trembling.

Once he saw that he had gotten her up, he started pulling her onto shore and soon enough she was looking right up at a very worried Purple. "Sarah, are you alright? What the heck happened?"

Her vision felt blurry but she stared up at him a moment before having to roll to her side.

She starts to cough up the last of the water from her lungs. A tremble moved through her body again. "Something grabbed my leg ...i couldn't see it...i couldn't get free."

He placed a gentle hand on her back to try and comfort her, and make sure she was okay. "Well, I'm glad I could get you out of there. I don't want to think about what would have happened if... You know."

She was still trembling a bit. The experience had completely frightened her and she probably would not be going back in the water again.

She nods weakly to Purple. " thank ou for being there..." She tries to stand up but she didn't feel strong enough yet as the adrenaline had left her now.

She looks up at Purple. "Can you help me back to the hut?"

He nodded and helped her up, supporting her as best he could while walking her back to the hut. "If you want, I can come back and try to find out what grabbed you."
