Ancient Forest (1X1)

She looks outside the hut a little. Biting her lip as she thinks about going out and looking for the brothers.

Pushing aside her unease, she gets up and heads out of the hut. She walks back towards the ruins wondering if any of them were there.

There was nothing at the main structures, but there was a small bit of mumbling towards the back. Well, from here it sounded like mumbling.

She hesitates as she hears the mumbling but she keeps walking. She looks around curiously before speaking up and asking who was there.

As she got closer, the words didn't become comprehensible yet but the sound moved into two familiar voices, of the two eldest brothers. As for where she was headed... the burial place of her friends. Again.

She became hesitant to move any further as she soon realized where she was headed. A shiver moving there her. "Hey guys..."

There was no response. The brothers simply kept murmuring amongst themselves. Perhaps they didn't hear her. Whatever they were talking about, they seemed pretty engaged.

Biting her lip a little, she hesitated again before moving forward again. She keeps walking until she could see the brothers.

Red and Orange are kneeling down in front of the graves, the younger seeming to try and comfort the elder. Soon enough Orange looks up at her and stands, taking a couple steps towards her. "Hey, is everything okay?" He kept his voice low, so as not to disturb Red too much.

She pauses, looking to them both with concern. She shakes her head a bit at his question. "Yes...everything is okay. Is he okay?" She asks with worry.

He looks back at his brother for a second and sighs. "He's felt really bad since we killed your friends. He keeps coming back to this place, claiming to be paying his respects. But now he's doubting himself, he's thinking that somehow their souls would be upset that he keeps returning to their burial place. Having their bodies right in front of him, in front of them, and yet out of their reach. Don't know where he's getting the idea from, but I want to get it out of his head before he does something about it."

Sarah nods slightly, sadness in her eyes. She hesitates before moving forward. " let me talk to him..."

He seemed hesitant, but he nodded and stepped aside, turning to face Red. Red's back was still turned, his head still drooped down facing the mounds of dirt. He seemed somewhat lost in his thoughts.

Sarah nods a little before moving forward a little. She gently goes to his side and sits down. "Hey..." She says softly. She didn't want to rush or push him.

He was silent for a minute, then he opened his eyes though he didn't directly look at her. "... They're going to hate me, with how often I come here."

She shakes her head. "No they don't. Like me they get lonely. Visiting them once in a while is okay to do. You are paying respect to them. I know them better than any of you." She says gently.

Again, he was silent for a minute, but only because he was thinking. "You said... in your nightmares, all you saw was darkness?"

She blinks a bit at his question then nods a little. "Yes. Lots of darkness. The kind light can't shine in." She says gently.

She looks at him and shakes her head a bit. "They are living on through you. They get to continue with life through you. They see as you do, feel as you do. " She says softly. She wasn't sure why she felt that way but in her heart it felt like the truth. How it really was.

"Believe what you want..." He closed his eyes again and fell silent for another minute. "I just wish I could show you what your friends were experiencing."
