How Green Becomes Wood

"Because of the binder." Dark replied with a solemn nod.

"The stressful part is finishing our vows," Daizi admitted, "At least I find it stressful. There's a lot too say, but there's no time to say all of it."

"Two weeks is not enough time! There's so much left to be done! I need to find colors!" Alec gasped. "It's an auspicious day, after all! Wonderful and amazing and everything!"

"Can we go to bed first and freak out tomorrow?" Xander suggested.

Alec paused and considered. "Alright, sure," he agreed calmly.

"That, I have no doubt of," Xander said. "You're very good at planning things." He stretched. "I've got homework to finish up and then I think I'm going to head to bed."

Alec sighed. "I've got homework, too."

During the week, while the twins were at school, in between all of their normal responsibilities, they increased the intensity with which they tried to make the other break. And now that Daizi was starting to feel better, and even came away from her first therapy appointment with a renewed sense of hope... She was more successful at it.

Near the end of the week, Milo went up to Xander with two manilla envelopes, "This one has prints of all of the best pictures from your sister's birthday, and there's a thumbdrive inside that has all of them." He handed the second one over, "This one has the ghost pictures that turned out well, I think they're really cool."

Xander took the envelopes and carefully opened the one of the ghost pictures first. He didn't take the photos all the way out, looking at it inside the envelope to keep it safer. "Nice. This looks really cool."

Austin was walking nearby, and he glanced at them curiously. "Is this a payoff or something that I should pretend I didn't see?" he joked with an awkward smile.

"Thanks," Milo replied, smiling a little, "In the ghost pictures, there's a few that I think are really awesome." When Austin walked by and made the comment, he quickly looked down at the ground and mumbled, "Just committing minor crimes."

Austin looked briefly confused and caught between curiosity and concern.

Xander very carefully pulled out one of the pictures and showed it to him. "Crimes of paranormal and photographically nature."

Austin's eyes went wide as he stared at the picture. "Whoa! Did you seriously get a picture of an old ghost or something?"

Austin took him seriously and looked sober. "I hear those things can be real dangerous. Don't want to be nosey, but i don't know if-"

"He's messing with you," Xander interrupted him. "He did this cool camera technique to fake the images."

"Oh," Austin said, looking massively relieved. "Sorry. Don't mean to get in your business."

"No kidding? Proper spooky," Austin said, admiring the picture. "How'd you do it? Photoshop?"

"Hell no. Way cooler," Xander said.

When Xander didn't elaborate, Austin looked at Milo curiosly. "How'd you do it?"

"It's a, um, long-exposure shot," Milo explained, "I had her move in frame while everything else remained still, and I lit her differently. The ones where she was dancing with Mr. Dark were really difficult."

"Yeah, I did," Milo replied nodding, "It's where you slow down the shutter speed, so more light gets in, so moving objects blur but stationary objects stay sharp."
