"All right, here we go," Tristan said good-naturedly as he took the microphone. He cued the music, a song the twins had never heard, and waited for his cue in the lilting, Gaelic-themed tune.
Brogans, Grogans, Sitting there in Hogans
Drinking at the bottom of The Hill.
She broke my heart in the Phoenix Park,
And I nearly lost my will.
With a Brazen Head, she turned and said
You need to go on the Long Hall.
It was getting late so we jumped the gate
And crashed the Trinity Ball.
She says "Are we going home?"
I says no!
We′re going out for the weekend Chasing Rainbows
Going downstream, wherever the beer flows
I don't really care wherever the blame goes
Cos we′re going out and we're, Chasing Rainbows!
We're going out for the weekend Chasing Rainbows
Going downstream, wherever the beer flows
I don′t really care wherever the blame goes
Cos we′re going out and we're, Chasing Rainbows!
He had a decent singing voice. Untrained, but not awful. He stumbled over the words occasionally and lost the tune once, but he was game and enthusiastic. The best part of his performance, though, was the fact that he perfectly nailed the Irish accent.
Alec and Xander clapped along enthusiastically, joining in on the cry, "Chasing rainbows!" whenever Tristan indicated to them.
"I have no idea what some of those words mean, but that was a lot of fun!" Alec cackled.
