How Green Becomes Wood

"Normally I wouldn't begrudge you talking to our children," Daizi said, tucking a strand of air behind her ear, "but I've had to be patient all night."

Dark chuckled and sauntered up to her before touching her waist and tipping her face up by the chin to kiss her. "I had a lovely time with you."

"You smell amazing,"

"So do you."

Daizi giggled, and allowed herself to be led upstairs.

The next day, of course, Ivy didn't allow her parents to sleep in, so they were up and making breakfast as usual. It was for the best, Daizi supposed, figuring the twins needed a good breakfast before hurrying off to jump around all afternoon. Although Dark... Dark was less certain, he certainly felt they could've prepared their own breakfasts. And if it weren't for Ivy, they would've.

Alec came thundering down first, as usual, bright and enthusiastic, looking forward to the day. He'd forgone all makeup and loose clothing, keeping it simple today. He didn't want to lose anything, get caught, or any other disaster. He greeted his parents and little sister with glee.

Xander joined them shortly after, ignoring his hyped-up brother. Naturally already a simple dresser, all he had to do was leave off his earings.

Xander grunted and sniffed around for good, strong tea.

"Yes!" Alec chirped. "It's going to be a blast! I've never been. Have you been? What are the rules I should follow?"

"No, I've never been. I bet I could though... I'd fall a lot, but it's meant to be soft, isn't it? It expects people to fall." Daizi said, tugging lightly on her earlobe.

"They will likely tell you the rules when you get there," Dark told them.

"I can't wait to try doing some flips and stuff!" Alec grinned, holding out his arms wide.

"Breakfast first," Xander told him. "Si'down an' eat already." He was hunched over his tea and plate of breakfast like a grumpy dog guarding its food.

Alec made a face at him but did as he was told. "Spoilsport. Be happy!"

"No."

"Fine. I'll be happy for us both!"

"Quietly."

"Impossible."

"I'm sure you will, habibi." Daizi smiled at him, drinking her own tea, "And you'll have to report back if there's a good area for little babies to play, I think Ivy would enjoy doing something very active like that. We take her out into the snow sometimes, but it's been a very long winter for her."

"No, but she knows how to fall really well! And I bet seeing other people jump will make her want to jump when she sees how fun it is!" Alec grinned.

Xander stood from his breakfast and started clearing up. "Or she'll be freaked out by a bunch of bodies flying around."

"She'll be a soccer kid," Xander said. He stretched and bent a bit to wake his body up. "Okay. Let's do this thing."

Alec clapped and bounced a bit. "He's awake enough to be excited!"

"We'll try not to come back with any broken bones," Xander promised, heading for the door.

"You are such a doomsday guy!" Alec semi-scolded, running for the front door. He yanked on his shoes and coat and rushed out the door. "Bye, Kiki! I'll see you later!"

Xander took his time with his shoes and his coat before walking out like a normal person. "See you guys. Bye, dog."

"Say bye-bye, Ivy," Daizi said, picking up Ivy and bringing her to the door so she could say goodbye to her brothers.

At the Trampoline Park, Sloan and Claire were already waiting. Unlike how they normally dressed at school, both dressed in active wear. Sloan wore navy leggings which fit tight all the to the ankle and tied at the waist, a Cranberries band t-shirt she had cut at the waist and the sleeves to form a boxy cropped top which showed off just a bit of the band of a navy sports bra. Her hair was in a ponytail tied back with a burgundy scrunchie and she had the jacket she wore outside draped over one arm as she waited for the twins. Claire's leggings were lilac and flaired just slightly at the ankle and a pink cropped tank top underneath a matching pink shrug. Her hair was in two buns at the nape of her neck, she wore a headband which matched her leggings, and when the twins entered, she was retying her shoe, even though she knew they'd be taking them off soon anyway.

"Hi, Sloan! Hi, Claire!" Alec called, waving excitedly as soon as they walked through the door. "Wow, you two look great! Hey, Claire, we almost match." He grinned, pointing to his light pink T-shirt.

Xander walked in far more calmly. "Cranberries?" he asked Sloan, offering her a fist bump in greeting.
