Maric Vakarian - Al'vyon Estate
His body stiffened at her question. He sighed and relaxed his body. "Yes, I did. Even during my days with Buttercup, I had no lover, so I would still seduce many women. But Xena, there's no reason to be jealous, they only captured my lust. You captured that, and so much more a long time ago." He held her close as he felt his true emotions reveal themselves to her.
"I never told you this, never told anyone, but I was so jealous of Taran. Of all the Harbingers, he was the one I despised, not because he was a narcissist like Legion or a stick in the mud like Alma, those qualities I could look past and find something appealing in them. I despised Taran, because he had captured your heart and I hadn't." His grip tightened as he felt tears come to his eyes. "We were partners, every minute I spent with you was a blessing, you were my one constant, my anchor. Then Satan took you away, and it was only by Aditi's grace that I found you again."
He looked into her eyes so she knew how serious he was. "I love you, Xena Mythriel Al'vyon. I would sacrifice my life if it meant protecting you. I want to be yours, and no one else's for the rest of my days on this world." He blushed and looked down, wondering if he said too much, maybe she didn't want this new Maric, perhaps she wanted the old, fickle Maric, he just didn't know anymore. He just prayed to Aditi that she could return his feelings.
