Revelree
Heartbreaker
Xena Mythriel Al'vyon
The Sanctuary
She blinked in surprise as the flames engulfed her arm. And yet, she did not feel the pain. She wasn't burning. Instead the sound of countless damned souls resound in her head. Men, women, children, pleading for their lives, crying, dying...
" --- must get away---"
"YOU MONSTER!"
"NOOOO! Stop---"
She let go of his neck, stepping back, and then covered her ears as the grin seeped out of her expression, replaced by a cold blank look. The sounds irritated her so much. She is so tired of this. They're dead so they should all shut up already. The nonchalance in her thoughts would have terrified her any other time, but she was, once again, too far down to care. As Legion babbled on the hollowness of her tactics, she just replied. "You may be right. But I wonder why I never stopped... ah, I know why." she smiled, sweetly. "Because it was fun, Legion." she said as she stepped towards him again. "You act so high and mighty now, but the fact that you are sealed proves you've been bested before, too." An image flashed in her head. A magic circle. A spell. A faery... Alma? Suddenly, she was more confident of her little speech. She placed her hand on her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm... I see. I sealed you inside Wroth, along with that Alma person, didn't I? To think that you've been outdone by us mere subjects... how humiliating, isn't it? Your Majesty?" her voice held contempt, drowning in a healthy dose of sarcasm.
"You talk as if you don't know me, Legion. Something tells me I've never bowed to anyone. What difference does it make now?" she placed a finger underneath his chin, titling his head up as well as Maric pulled at his hair. "Legion... enough playing around. I sincerely just wanted to regain back some order in my memories. You are right: I am hollow. I don't remember much of anything. I don't understand much of anything. I'm at an impasse, stuck between my past and present self. I don't need any more of your bullshit."
"---aHHHHH!"
"Help me! HELP ME!"
"I don't wanna die!"
Xena frowned, the screams in her head getting louder and louder, more and more irritating by the passing second. She pulled out Errol's pocketknife and played it between her fingers. "Make the voices stop, Legion." she murmured, almost too quietly.
