The Vampire's Apprentice

"I suppose we could make some time tomorrow evening, if that will suffice," Mrs. Mooney said slowly. "What time?"
"Will there be food?" JP asked hopefully.

Mrs. Mooney frowned, clearly a bit confused by the phrase, "That's when he gets up," but she only nodded. "Alright. Eight-thirty tomorrow evening. Should I, er, bring anything?"

"I don't believe so...." Kitty turned to leave. "If you're looking to garden, Mrs. Pugglesworth does a lot of that. I'll be going now."

"Bye! See you tomorrow!" the twins called, waving happily.

On the porch, Norville had nearly fallen out of his chair and woken himself up. He sat looking around groggily.

She smiled, seeing him. "C'mon, Sam." she said, patting his head and opening the door. "You and I are going to do some decorating!"

Sam gruff ed and happily followed Kitty from room to room, watching her intently. He stayed out of the way, but he was clearly curious about what she was doing. Eventually, he fell asleep on the rug.

Clancy rose at twilight and went straight to the shower. He came out in only a towel around his middle, his hair sticking up every which direction. "Miss Kitty!" he called. "Have you seen my cellular phone?"

"Hm?" Kitty looked up at his call, brushing a streak of red gel off her nose. Her thumb only replaced it with a green one. "Is it on your desk upstairs?" She called back.
