The Vampire's Apprentice

Kitty shrugged as if he were missing out, though let him alone and went to figure out how to use a waffle iron. Fortunately, it was very simplistic. She made a note to find one of these after they moved in, and went back to sit by Norville. The girl brought another cup of juice for him, just in case he had finished his first one.

"Oh, thanks, juice!" Norville chirped, accepting the cup. "Thank you." He took a few sips. "So... museum? Your choice."

"Hmm...." Kitty poked at her waffle with the plastic fork. Plastic forks were not really made for waffles, she determined. "I dunno. I'd like to see the Liberty Bell if nothing else, but I really just want to be there already."

She agreed, shoving a bite-size triangle of waffle into her mouth. Tonight, they would be home. In a new home. That was what she held to, for the moment.

"Maybe. I brought other things that I use less often, though." Kitty sighed. "Oh well. I'll find it soon enough."

"I would think so, but we're supposed to..." Kitty fished the note out of her pocket, "wait for him if we get there before dusk."

"I guess he wants to see Connecticut rather than just wake up there," Norville shrugged. "I wonder where he went last night?"
