Ancient Forest (1X1)

Sarah felt that tremble run down her spine again. She rubs at her arms, then gathers up her bags and leaves the library. Who had that old man been and what had he meant. She trembled again as she walked outside.

She starts walking along the sidewalk to make her way back towards the edge of the forest so she could head back. She had already been in town too long. She wasn't aware though that one of the brothers had come looking for her.

He felt a small pang of hunger rise in him, but as someone at the table finally noticed him staring at them, he moved on, remembered his primary goal. He had to find Sarah, had to make sure nothing happened to her.

Once he found the library he quickly went inside and started looking around for her, hoping he wouldn't look suspicious to anyone. With his human disguise, he shouldn't, but he didn't know if any of it had slipped off by accident while his demon instincts almost took him over.

Sarah had stopped when she reached the edge of town, looking around carefully. She wasn't sure what she was looking for but something...something told her to wait.

The library had grown quiet and there was barely anyone there. The same elder man though was sitting in a corner pretending to be interested in the pages of a book laid before him on the table.

When he spotted that elder man, something about him struck a small nerve in the demon. Something told him to stay away from that man. He couldn't find Sarah, so he left the library and started wandering through town again. He found himself going back towards the border of town, and he had to hope at this point that Sarah was on her way home by now..

As he started approaching the edge of town, he thought he spotted her and started towards her. Please let that be her, he thought to himself.

The elder man had watched the demon from the corner of his eyes. Yes he was old in this body but he knew what that boy was the moment he entered. He didn't bother to approach him though. Something else was already haunting the boy. He could tell. The past was at it again.

Sarah stood by the edge of the forest for a bit. When she was about to leave she saw a figure walking towards her. It took her a moment but then she saw that it was Red. She relaxes a bit and gives him a smile.

Red quickened his pace as he figured out that it was Sarah, and grabbed her hand, at a loss for words for a minute. "You're safe. Good. Come on." He then started pulling her towards the forest, making sure she still had her bags just to be safe.

She blinks slightly at him but followed after him as he pulled her along. Once in the forest and they had gone a few minutes with walking, she asks. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I just got worried about you." He let her hand go as they approached the ruins, putting a little distance between the two of them. "I didn't want to seem like I was hovering over you, but... I have reason to protect you, and I feel like that's my job. To keep you from trouble. But... you were just getting some things to better your living conditions, right? And doing a little research?"

She nods slightly at his words and smiles gently to him. "Yes. Just got supplies and did some research. " She wasn't sure abo it telling him about what had happened with the elder man though.

He nods and seems a little embarrassed. "I thought so.. I don't know why I get so nervous sometimes."

He then took a deep breath as his expression got serious. "Sarah... I hate to admit this, but.. I-I need a quick moment to feed. Something happened while I was looking for you in town and it left me feeling hungry for a soul.. as long as you think you're up for it..."

Sarah nods to him. "I'm ready. Let's just get to the hut so I can lay down after. " She suggests to him.

She follows after him quietly. Once they reached the hut, she set her bags down. Then she looks to him as she sits down. "Are you okay?" She asks carefully.

"What do you mean?" Yes, he had been worried for her, and yes, the pang of hunger from earlier still stung him a little, but he wasn't sure what she was asking about when she asked that question.

She regards him a moment then says "You just seem like you have a lot on your mind.."

"Maybe, but I'm sure it'll all clear up by the time I've finished feeding." He sits near her, waiting for her confirmation to begin the process.

She nods softly at his words and tilts her head for him. She closes her eyes and prepares herself for the feeding process.

He's still a little hesitant, but he gently bites her neck and starts drawing the energy out, just enough to hold him over.

Sarah stayed still as he get from her. He was so gentle compared to the others. She didn't mind when he did it she realized. She let him get what he wanted. The pendant hadnt alerted her yet that it was enough yet.

He took only what he felt he needed, then pulled away just before the pendant started to alert her, with a hand going over his mouth. "Thank you. I won't let that happen again, I promise."
