It was a bittersweet moment, watching their Wroth appear only to disappear so soon. She nodded at Maric, agreeing. Legion needs to die... It was a sad statement, one she did not want to think about, but they had no choice. If they are to have any semblance to peace, the price is Legion's life. She knew this, and yet she was scared. How can she prevent what happened years ago from happening again? How can she make sure the people she wanted to protect will not be jeopardized again? If they wanted to kill Legion for good they needed power. Maybe even power from the gods. Lucifer? No, Legion was his creation and he could not care less if a few people died in his rampage, harbingers or no. Aditi? She hesitated. She is the embodiment of pride, and it only occurred to her that asking help was something she was not good at. Even as her more gentle counterpart, she never asked help, she gave orders. Orders that Errol took to heart. Something tells her she never trusted Aditi, though. Why? She closed her eyes and tried to remember. But she couldn't. She knew she hated Aditi, though. She could not imagine why.

You are... Aditi's gift to mankind. A voice resounded in her head. A face. A gentle smile. Mother?

Shaking her head and letting the thought go, she gave her attention back to Brynhild. To Sloth. For now... she just wanted to forget the complications. "Say, can I call you Bryn? This is the first time I've had the chance to have another girl in the group except for Envy. You look like you got Wroth's attention on you." a teasing smile appeared on her lips. "See, the Wroth without his memories is rather immature, to be honest, but the harbinger in him..." she laughed, amused. "Well, let's just say he's quite the charmer."

"Oh umm... Yeah, you can call me Bryn, Xena."
Brynhild said, unsure of what to say as her face warmed at Xena's words. "Is he..." she trailed off, turning her gaze to Wroth saddened to see him revert back to how he originally was Shaking her head of those thoughts, she let her mind wander from Wroth to Legion's threat of returning. 3-4 days is all the time they had. "What is going to happen from here?" she asked, looking between Xena and Maric.

Finally waking up. "My head..." it felt like some giant lumberjack with 40 foot wide arms was splitting wood on his head. Finally focusing on everyone who looked bittersweet at him. "What?" Feeling like he was being judged though he just quickly shrugged away... Though when he saw the paper in Maric's hand he instinctually nabbed it, analyzing it his eyes scanning the piece of paper. "Read out loud Wroth..... Who Wrote this?" Showing the paper to all it was written in an ancient language that seemed illegible. He continued though not really knowing why. "Ok you all know that I always get the bad news out of the way first so here I go. What Legion said was true, he can and will erase everything...... Alma can vouch for me on that. Xena. I'm so, so sorry. Legion is even after I stored some of his power into Bryn is still a tough motherfucker that even the Envoys would have trouble with, Don't drop your guard for a second when he is out every hit counts!" Wroth went silent for a moment just to process all this shit, he was silent for about 3 minutes before he continued. "Alright bad news out of the way, on to the good news. Well, I shouldn't really say good news, more 'hopeful' news and I stretch the word Hopeful. Legion was working on something, something big it was enough to make Lucifer go to such lengths to corrupt Legion. 8 orbs of pure primal power each one can make an average joe into a Demi-god Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Light, Darkness, Lightning, and Nature. Legion went through hell and a handbasket to make them even at the cost of his life. There might be 2 in Abbadon Earth and fire I think, I'm not sure since Legion had to randomly scatter them across the continent so Lucifer could never use or destroy them, I'm not saying victory is assured but we'd have a damn good chance to turn 1 percent into at least a 67 percent!.... Or maybe a 70 percent Math was never my strong suit. " Giving a strange look of confusion to everyone one eyebrow raised as part of his mouth was in a frown. "The fuck is this?" motioning to the paper.

Maric Vakarian - Sanctuary

Maric ran a hand through his black hair as Wroth read the note. He was exhausted, so much has happened since he first started unlocking his memories, he just wanted a moment, just one moment to relax and process it all. Alas he wouldn't be getting it today. He turned to Wroth. "Right so the rundown is this. We talked to Legion, and we have about 3-4 days before he pops out of your head and kills us all. We also talked to a part of you that actually remembers everything, and according to that note he wrote, we need to find those orbs and fuck Legion up."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door to the sanctuary. "I'll get it." Maric said as he left to open the door. When he opened it, there was a child with the brand of the Circle on his left arm. "Um... Master Maric sir? The Imperator would like to have a meeting with you and Ms. Xena." The child said nervously. Maric sighed, Can't I just get one break? and kneeled down to pat the child's head. "Thank you, you can tell him that I'm on my way with Xena in tow, ok?" The child nodded and ran off as Maric went back inside.

"So bad news. The Circle of Sanctity has requested a meeting with me and Xena." He looked to her with conflicted eyes. "It'll probably have to do with using the sanctuary to practice our religion. I cant say no... do you mind coming along Xena?" He said guiltily, he had much more important business to take care of than the circle, but he knew he needed to show up at some point or he'd be in trouble. "Bryn, you probably know more than either me or Xena right now so could you fill him in and then start the search without us? We'll be back to help as soon as this is taken care of."

The Circle of Sanctity. Xena blinked, realizing she had forgotten. In a strange twist of fate, Maric is now a part of an Aditi-worshipping religion. To think that they used to work for Lucifer... Xena couldn't help but laugh at the irony as she took his hand in his once again. I could get used to this. she thought as she once again reveled in his warmth. Maric looked so tired... once the others wasn't looking she hesitated and kissed him softly on the cheek, along with an encouraging smile. Their joined hands emitted a white light, which eventually turned into a golden one as it seeped through his skin. If her magic worked as usual, he should feel a little more refreshed and less stressed. She leaned closer and whispered. "Just a little strength. This day has been a rollercoaster, but we can take a rest soon. Hopefully." She nodded at Bryn and Wroth. "Please look after the Sanctuary for a bit. If you two has to go, make sure to close the door, okay?" she made a nervous laugh. "Well, its still broken, maybe I'll have it fixed sometime soon."

The child has some sort of strange circular brand on his arm. She had seen it somewhere before... where? She tried to remember, but she couldn't quite recollect. Must be because her memories are still so jumbled and incomprehensible right now. "Say, Maric," she started as the two of them left the Sanctuary. "Would you tell me more about this Circle of Sanctity? I'm a little curious now." Rather than her being forced to come, it was like she was the one pulling Maric along, a little too eager to meet this circle. She wondered: how are Maric's new acquaintances like? How close are they to Aditi? Can they talk to the goddess yet? Do they have a priestess of some sort? All she knew is that Aditi has been MIA, but if there was someone that could help them in their situation, it was the goddess herself.

Brynhild Nyman- Sanctuary
"Will do, Maric.
"Brynhild said in response before walking over to Wroth, her legs now steady enough to keep her upright. "Come on, let's get going as well. We should get started as soon as possible." She said, lightly patting Wroth's shoulder.

Blinking more confused than ever at Maric's statement in his bafflement he didn't even have time to respond to Maric's comment as he and Xena walked out the door. "...... Ok." turning to Brynhild and for a surprising twist didn't blush at her! He still found her.... What was that word... He heard it around Lillith a couple of times... Se..xiphone?..... Sure let's go with that. She still looked sexiphone but he didn't fee like a bumbling dork anymore. "Any idea's to where we can even start?" Not really understanding fully but going along with it since.... He really wanted to spend some time with this women. While, also getting his memory back but mostly he wanted to hang out with her.

"Hm...the Fringe might be a good place to start." She said as she glanced at Wroth with an amused look."I'll explain things along the way, come on." She said as she started to head in the direction of her old home. It was almost funny to think that not too long ago, she was training in the halls of the Gladitor Pits and now she was going back to look for something completely different.

Guruk Shamad
The Sanctuary

Heavy steps found their way to the Sanctuary but stopped at the staircase leading up to its massive doors. The beast of a man stared up at them, he knew that there weren't that many but in the state that he was in, the picture in front of him resembled that of a mountain. Guruk gained his strength and forced himself up the stairs; one foot after the other until he finally reached the top. His knees buckled beneath the weight of his body and he fell against the large doors that guarded the entrance to the Sanctuary. Guruk held onto the doors as if they were going to save his life from something, his breathing laboured. The large man forced himself to regain his composure and stood erect in front of the Sanctuary doors. It wasn't long since the last time he was there, passing that weird daemon as he approached the doorway and knocked, being greeted by Xena's smiling face. She is no longer who she used to be. Maric entered before he did and the two of them head to the garden. Guruk thought back to how Maric spoke in the garden just mere hours ago; He is no longer who he used to be. A slight furrow of the brow appeared on Guruk's face as he thought about the events of the day. He sighed and reached for the handle on the doorway, only to discover that it was broken and the doors required nothing more than a gentle push to swing open.

Guruk walked into the Sanctuary and observed his surroundings before heading to the Garden. He never spent a lot of time in the actual Sanctuary itself, he didn't care for it; what he cared about was the garden. The garden was a place of peace for him, a place for him to truly create something beautiful; something perfect. Guruk entered the Garden, taking a deep breath from the sweet aromas dancing off the flowers. In all of Abaddon, the Garden was his safe haven, his church, his mother. The large man walked into the Garden, careful to stick to the stone pathway ensuring he wouldn't step on anything accidentally. When it was safe to do so, he turned and walked into a small grass clearing amongst the flowers. Guruk dropped to his knees and hung his head. Was he praying?

"Mother." a voice echoed through the emptiness of the Garden, though it did not sound like it belonged to Guruk; he spoke differently. "Something strange happened today. That woman that showed up here years ago, claiming the Sanctuary as her own, the very same woman that I've gardened here with for years, knows Maric in a way I do not understand. Or is it that I don't want to understand?" Guruk sighed, his head still hanging. "He's different now. So is she, though. Something happened to the both of them in a life they lived before the one they are living now... The Harbingers. Satan's puppets who were forced to committing sin after sin and do you know how I reacted, mother? I let my emotions cloud my judgment... I lost my composure... I almost lost my humanity and became the beast." Guruk's hand clenched into a fist thinking about the orc blood that ran through his veins, the same orc blood that turned him into a rabid animal. "Why am I this way, mother? Why did you have to love an orc... worse, why did you have to have a child with an orc? Maric and Xena, they can redeem for what their past selves have done... but can I?" Guruk's face softened for the first time in years, his eyes shaky and filled with sorrow; he looked human. "What if it is not them... what if it is me? What if I am the reason Aditi doesn't return? Everything you taught me... everything you told me... I cannot live up to it, mother. All of the innocence that I have gifted over the years, will it be enough? Will it truly be enough?"

The Sanctuary

Thank you for being my constant, my anchor to the man I truly want to be. I love you.

The statement resounded in her head as they walked to the Sanctuary, the sentiment making her feel fuzzy and happy inside. It was so strange to think that things had been so different. She had not expected anything like this to happen. Only yesterday, she had tried to kill herself, end this horrible nightmare of a life. But now, she was glad that Maric has stopped her. Despite all the pain and confusion of her old self coming back, having someone beside you... it made it so much bearable. As they entered the Sanctuary again, she immediately scanned the place, her first instinct being to find where Errol is, but unfortunately it seems that none of the things have been changed since they left, which means he had not come back since yesterday. This made her a little anxious, hoping she can talk to him soon.

Errol is a patient person. He can wait. she thought to herself.

Ever since she gained her memories as Pride, she had been worried. What would Errol think of me now? She was no longer the person who saved him out of the goodness of her heart, nor was she the healer who just needed to save and help everyone through her magic and knowledge. No--- she has goals now. Motivations. Priorities. She could not simply stay here doing nothing anymore. She needed to move. The Sanctuary has held so much importance to her. It held so many fond memories. It was a memento of the her that was pure. A memento of the her that was slowly fading. She knew it will never truly fade completely, but innocence only has meaning if it is pure. She isn't pure anymore. And never will she be again.

Sighing, the girl walked to the counter and found what she wanted: Wroth's strange blood, secured inside the drawers. It looked weird, a black full of odd, purple impurities. That's not my blood. Wroth had said. Was it Legion's? Either way, it does not matter, she thought as she put it inside the vials and discarded the syringe in the trash, splitting the sample into three equal parts. She took her pouch full of herbs and first aid paraphernalia and placed it inside it. She wondered how much she could actually find out from studying it. Then a thought passed her mind. What are the chances that I could it for something else? She pondered this for a moment, but she was not able to entertain the idea further, when she heard a soft voice in the garden. The words had been silent, almost inaudible, but the tone was so sad and melancholic that it broke her heart. Is that... She walked towards the back door, gently opening it, to see the back of the orc in the garden, kneeling by the flowers, as if praying. She did not want to interrupt, so she was going to usher Maric for them to leave the place quietly, but for some reason she felt so compelled to walk towards him. And when she was only a few feet away from his kneeling frame, she murmured, to catch his attention. "Guruk."

Maric Vakarian - The Sanctuary

He'd waited silently while Xena got everything that she needed from the Sanctuary. The sound of a low, familiar voice caught his attention, Guruk. He followed Xena to the garden and saw the orc praying. His mind flashed back to a memory from years ago. The two of them standing over that grave, while Buttercup told Maric everything, why he joined the Circle, what he was trying to accomplish. Maric knew what Guruk was doing, he was talking to his mother.

He put a soft hand on Xena's shoulder when she murmured to his friend, putting a finger to his lips with a wink. He knelt down beside his best friend and clasped his hands together in the same manner Guruk did. "Hey there Mrs. Shamad, it's Maric Vakarian, I'm sure Guruk has told you about me. I need to ask your forgiveness. Yesterday I caused your son so much pain and confusion, a past that was ripped away from me before I met him, has reappeared, and it's thrown all of our lives into chaos."

He paused, trying to hold himself together. "I'm so proud of your son Mrs. Shamad. Even when I told him that I was a pawn of Satan, he didn't give in to his emotions, didn't let the beast inside him take control and slaughter me where I stood. There's so much compassion in Guruk, so much good that he can accomplish. I swear to you, no matter how much I may change, I will help your son summon Aditi back to Terrestria, and I will make sure she loves him as much as you and I do." He finished the prayer, looking up at Guruk with a warm smile and sincere eyes.

Guruk Shamad
The Sanctuary - The Garden

Guruk smelt them enter the Sanctuary before he could hear them, although he wasn't paying much attention to them and a part of him wished that they wouldn't find him at all. He stopped speaking with his Mother as he felt them enter to Garden and approach him. Maric appeared beside him, on his knees with his hands clasped together. The orc only watched him out of the corner of his eye his dearest friend addressed his mother, "Mrs. Shamad. I need to ask for your forgiveness. I'm so proud of your son. I will make sure Aditi loves him as much as you and I do."

At first, anger, and then... and then... What is this feeling? The half-orc was conflicted. He didn't know whether he should be outraged at Maric for addressing his mother in the same manner that he did or thank the man for his kind words. Guruk held his mother to a certain standard, she was a goddess in his eyes and very protective of her; he didn't like the idea of anyone else talking to her. Maric's words replayed in his head and the half-orc couldn't decide if he was being genuine or patronizing, to patronize the dead, that is a new low, even for you Maric Vakarian. Guruk could see the smile and sincere eyes on Maric's face but a piece inside of him did not want to give in so easily, he decided to go with a happy medium between thankful and annoyed.

"Her name is not Mrs. Shamad, Maric." He commented, a harshness to his voice as he looked back at Maric with a glare. "But thank you anyway, I know your heart is in the right place and the sentiment is appreciated but please, don't address her again." Guruk's voice shifted back to normal, though with a hint of sadness behind it as he thought about his mother, his dear sweet mother. He then noticed Xena behind them and his eyes softened slightly. Guruk pushed to his feet, using Maric as support as he dug his large hand into his shoulder and turned to face Xena. "I would like to speak with you, if that is alright? Preferably alone, without the lover boy." Guruk turned back to look at Maric, "don't worry, I won't spill blood upon my mother's grave. You can leave us here."

Xena cracked a smile as she gave Maric a look. "Go away, lover boy. Your girl and your best friend needs some talking to do. Off you go." she told him, with a playful smile, quite relieved that Guruk wanted to talk. She has been worried that he'd be close minded. "I, too would like to speak with Guruk alone, if you don't mind."

Her eyes wandered to the bushes and flowers that bloomed around the area the orc was kneeling upon. I won't spill blood upon my mother's grave. "I have always wondered why the flowers grow so beautifully around that area. Your mother, even in death, was still nurturing beauty." her eyes became rather sad as she regarded Guruk once again. "I'm envious. You get to have a grave to pray upon." her words were soft and sincere... tinged with bitterness.

Maric Vakarian - Sactuary Gardens

He nodded at Guruk's words about his mother. "I understand. I just needed to let her know, at least once." He was slightly worried about leaving the two of them alone considering how Buttercup reacted last time, but decided to trust in his loved ones. "I'll be inside." He said as he gave Xena a quick kiss on the cheek before entering the Sanctuary again and closing the door behind him. He walked into the area where they'd spoken to Legion and stared at the wall. Lost in his thoughts.

Wroth
The sanctuary

His feet walking back to the Sanctuary felt heavy, as if someone had placed a curse on him, turning his feet into iron. He said that he would destroy Legion.... But could he? If he felt this bad about the idea of actually killing a brother he can't remember, it seemed the only thing that kept Wroth going right now was Brynhild. They just meet, but he could tell she was the one he wanted to spend his existence with her compassion for his plight and the fire she had made him respect and care for her on a level he could never have imagined.... It was then when they got 600 feet away he heard..... Buttercuck. Groaning as he was not in the mood to have another pissing contest with the religious nut-job, hell maybe his only reason for joining that fruity cult was so he could feel superior to everyone around him.

"Bryny." His new nickname he came up on the spot. "I might flip my shit in the next minute. Just letting you know so when you see the Religious gubber, with the faggy name come out. I might beat the ever loving shit out of him!" Punching a hole through solid concrete as they came close to the Sanctuary. Let's just get this over with..... approaching the door or what's left of the.... Fuck it! Tearing the piece of shit door off with little to no effort. "The thing was a broken so what's the difference?" Walking into the room were Maric was sitting holding hand with Bryn as he greeted the Incubus with a half-smile. "Hey..... We found one....." sighing heavily. "What is he doing back here?" Motioning to the door were Guruk and Xena where having a conversation in the garden.

The rich, earthy soil swept under a woman's boots as she recounted how many evergreen trees it took to get to the Sanctuary, a place of peace and healing. She spied the small building from a mile away with no sign on the wooden door, worn down as it was. It appeared to be another Asylum, if she was being blatant about it. The woman took another step, then suddenly, felt her heart begin to quickly pump blood and a phantom sensation of hands wrapping around her throat began to take over.

What the —

Zaraa fell to the ground, her hands struggling to relieve herself of the hands that wrapped around her throat, squeezing it like a snake. What's going on?! Lucifer! Lucifer! She gasped for air as she tried to reach out to him through her mind though pain lowered the strength of her aid. What had she done wrong? Zaraa coiled on the ground, dirt and dust enveloping her outfit as she struggled to breathe. She closed her eyes and wheezed. Zaraa would embrace the agony alone. Lucifer!

She blinked and suddenly, a recollection of the previous torment she'd endured came to mind, vivid and realistic. She could hear her own voice inside her head: Spare me, spare me please! A desperate cry for help, no one to hear it. The fury that burned in his eyes as he demanded yet another simple task: 'Find them.' Zaraa was tossed against the wall, bones cracking, though she did not cry or feel any pain at all. She stood up and left him silently, hand gripping her weapon.

As Lucifer's loyal servant, she would find them, no matter what.

Guruk Shamad
The Sanctuary - The Garden

Guruk watched as his friend exited The Garden and headed back inside The Sanctuary. Xena began to speak to him almost immediately, commenting on how the flowers grew so beautifully in the place he buried his mother so many years ago. She was a nurturing beauty, a kind and gentle soul who believed so strongly in Aditi. His mother would pray to her every day, mostly begging for Aditi to guide her son down the right path, to grow up a good and kind man. Guruk wondered what she would think about him now if she was still alive; he at least finally found a purpose in life and at least one person, possibly two, that he cared about.

He looked at Xena with eyes more human than he has ever shown before as she spoke of envy of a grave to pray upon. Guruk knew in that moment that the woman before him had suffered an immeasurable amount of pain; in all of his years he had grown quite intelligent and he didn't need her to say anything to understand the situation. He slowly moved toward Xena, careful not to startle her, and placed his hand on her shoulder as he looked down at her. "I will not say that I know how you feel, even in two similar situations... people feel differently." The large man paused, drawing a low breath. "There was a time in my life that I was a lost little boy who was consumed by darkness. I hated the world, I hated the gods, I hated myself. It was my mother who showed me the way, the one who paved me a new path. You see, my mother never loved my father. My father was just an animal who kidnapped her, raped her, and she bore a child. I was a constant reminder of everything she should hate; I had the eyes of the man who attacked her and yet... She loved me unconditionally. I could hear her pray to Aditi every day, she prayed that I would not be like him and that I would be different. She prayed that I would find purpose and that I wouldn't be alone in the world. She prayed that my heart would open up once again." Guruk's face softened, "it was by the grace of Aditi that her gentle soul could love a monster like me. She died, yes, she fell terribly ill suddenly but I remember her saying to me that it was all a part of Aditi's plan and that she would be joining the Creator in heaven. She taught me to believe... and she changed my life."

Guruk removed his hand from Xena's shoulder and stepped back from her, glancing over at the gardens once again. "I don't know what I am trying to say, Maric has always been better with words than I am... but what I do know, is that all of this" Guruk gestured to the flowers, to the entire room, to Xena and seemingly an invisible Maric, "is part of her plan. Or else none of it would exist. Anyway, Xena." He looked back to the woman, regret in his eyes, "I'm sorry for how I reacted at the prison. I've never told anyone what I told you today and it is my way of apologizing, I know it might not mean much... but I thought I needed to do something. I've always been better with gestures." He finished, lightly chuckling. Suddenly, his ears and nose began to tickle and his attention perked toward the door into the Sanctuary. It's that man-child... what in the world is he doing here? Maric is out there...

Brynhild Nyman- Sanctuary
Bryn scowled at Wroth when she heard the nickname. "Call me that again and I will punch you in the throat." she said. Just as she sent that threat to Wroth, a sound tickled her ears, the sound of someone suffocating. Breaking off into a run towards the sound, she found a silver-haired girl, the source of the suffocation. She looked at the girl with worried eyes as she, without hesitation, scooped the her and bound back to the Sanctuary. "I'm gonna get you help, please hold on." Once inside, she looked around frantically before placing the suffocating girl on one of the beds. "I need help! She's suffocating!" Bryn yelled as she kept her eyes on the girl not knowing what to do.

The Sanctuary - Garden

Xena's heart seemed to reach out to the orc as she heard his words. She was right: she had no right to judge Guruk for killing children for his beliefs, and no matter how atrocious his actions was, he sincerely believed it was for a good cause. "You are a good man, Guruk." she told him as she knelt down in front of the bushes, touching a flower and caressing the petals lovingly with her fingers. "I also apologize for being so insensitive yesterday. I did not think how my words would affect people. It's true: I just joined an organization who worships the goddess I hated. But I truly want to summon Aditi. At this point in time, I don't think Lucifer can be casted away from this world without her help. My hatred for Lucifer... for him breaking the harbingers, my family, apart... burns through everything else in my sight." She sighed... seemingly tired somewhat, before she murmured. "I loved Aditi."

The wind blew softly in the garden of the Sanctuary. Her eyes seemed transfixed on the flower in front of her, as if she was lost in thought... before she continued. "My mother and father... believed in Aditi. I did too. They spent their entire lives praying for her guidance, following her teachings, spreading love and harmony and joy..." Pain was evident in her eyes at that moment. "They were good people. But for them to die so horribly... so suddenly... what good are my gifts for if I can't even save the people I loved? Aditi never let me save them. She never even spared a glance. She never protected them. She... never protected me."

The vampire stood up. "Maybe you're right. Maybe everything is part of her plan. Maybe my parents are with her in heaven, looking down upon their only daughter. Maybe I'm just being a stubborn brat for hating her, a naive child." She gazed to Guruk and gave him a sad smile, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "But all I know is that... through all the pain and misery she had let me walk through in this wretched life, coming back and taking Lucifer out... was the least she could do for me."

Maric Vakarian - Sanctuary

His chin rested in his hands while he waited for the two most important people in his life to work out their differences. Despite the good rest he'd had last night, he was still incredibly tired. Everything was happening too quickly, Legion's coming back in just two days, Xena's joining the cult, and now apparently they're going to summon Aditi. It was just too much for him. All he wanted was one day where he could do nothing but hold the woman he loved in his arms as they cuddled in bed all day. He felt the bite mark Xena left him and smiled. One day, Maric. One day.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of a door being ripped off. His face hit his hand, there was only one person that could be. "Aditi, save me." He muttered to himself as sure enough, Wroth and Bryn entered, holding hands, which Maric raised an eyebrow at. He was going to be happy in an exasperated way that they found one of the orbs, but then he heard Wroth mention Guruk with a voice filled with venom and contempt for the orc, and something inside Maric just snapped.

He got out of his seat and got in Wroth's face, genuine anger in his eyes. "Don't you ever use that tone when you're talking about Buttercup with me. That man happens to be my best fucking friend! If it weren't for him, I would've died an amnesia filled drug addict in some gutter over 50 years ago, and you'd be talking with some other sin of lust currently. That man and Xena are the only two things in this world that matter to me, and I swear on Aditi, if you put one finger on him Wroth, I will drain you fucking dry!!"

His stress had gotten the better of him, he hadn't even noticed Bryn quickly exiting the room only to see her carrying a woman suffocating on nothing into the Sanctuary. "FUCK!!" He yelled as he ran out and quickly opened the door. "Xena! We need your help, a woman is suffocating in here!"
